This boutique hotel is much more than just a place to stay in the energized seaside town of Rockland -- it is a destination for itself alone and well worth the room rate.
Everything is done right, from the artistic/industrial chic of the main floor, to the open energy of the rooftop deck, where the views of the harbor and the town are unsurpassed. Everything in between is top-notch too: the very best in bathroom fixtures and amenities, well-curated original art from local artists throughout the building, and an attentive staff that brings ice and wine glasses to your room within minutes of your request.
We stayed in room 501, with a 180 degree view of the harbor and a small balcony with chairs to sit and enjoy it all. (I couldn't help but think what a great room this will be during the annual blues festival.) We also got a peek at many other rooms, and each had character, original artwork and the same top quality appointments as our room.
The hotel is easy walking distance to all the downtown restaurants, bars, art galleries and museums, which greatly enhances the richness of the experience. I recommend it as a weekend destination for locals and as a must add for Brooklynites who are traveling in the boonies and want a taste of (their) home town chic!More
