My husband and I stayed last weekend just for Saturday night as we came up to do a day trip to Baxter State Park. The inn is about 25 minutes drive to the South Entrance Park Gate. The inn is right in downtown Millinocket, which is small but convenient as there was a grocery store, take out/fast food, restaurants etc.
We stayed in suite #3. Dennis was really easy to communicate with and very flexible. The suite felt more than adequate for our needs and was spacious. Kitchen is stocked with essentials, definitely enough for basic cooking. The bed was moderately comfortable. There was a fun movie selection available.
For the price, I thought it was a good find and I would consider staying there again if we went up to Baxter.
The Parks Edge Inn was a perfect location for our time in Millinocket. The room was clean and inviting. Dennis and Bert were great to work with. We enjoyed grilling and all the outdoor seating areas everyday.
Things I enjoyed: great location, nice owners, spacious, provided things you need. My main complaint is that it sounded like the people downstairs were in my space. I could hear their conversations, water running, toilets flushing, etc. Was a bit disconcerting. Also, stairway up to the unit was kind of rickety. Wooden chairs in kitchen were not made for sitting for an extended period of time. Wi-Fi was unreliable--went out several times while I was there.
Excellent house, with a lot of charm. Great location in downtown Millinocket. Dennis was an excellent host.
