“My idea of the perfect vacation.”
Reviewed 2 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Privacy, lake front, running brook, mountain views, clean spacious cabin... this place has everything we could possibly ask for. Close to the center of town for groceries and supplies and a short drive to Baxter State Park. This was our second stay here. We also stayed in October 2014. The fall foliage was breathtaking.
Our granddaughters joined us and enjoyed playing in the lake with the dogs. ..cooking smores by the fire and watching the stars at night from the dock. Perfect. We did not want to leave and will most definitely return.

Very cozy and clean cabin. King sized bed very comfy, great sleeping. Abundant wildlife. Lake was serene and canoeing was a blast. Well stocked kitchen. Would definently stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a private getaway. Rick and Debby made us feel very welcome.

“12 days of Bliss”
Reviewed 5 August 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Our 12 day stay at the LeVasseur cabin couldn’t have been better!! The cabin was well equipped and extremely comfortable. The master bedroom was perfect for the lucky couple who gets it. The spacious yard was perfect for our dog and the privacy was the most we have ever experienced at a lakeside rental!! The daily views of Mt Katahdin and the incredible sunsets from the beautiful private beach and extended dock were tremendous. We climbed Katahdin, which was our best climbing experience in a long time. Baxter State Park has so much to offer. Dogs aren’t allowed in Baxter State Park, but the LeVasseur’s recommended a wonderful dogsitter (Connie) in Millinocket that our Cocker Spaniel fell in love with. We also did the 8 mile loop at nearby Gulf Hagas, a must for nature lovers with all the views of canyons and waterfalls. Also hiked and trout fished 3 ponds within the beautiful Turtle Ridge trail system and trout fished 3 ponds/lakes on the Rainbow Lake trail system. Rick and Debbie can provide all the info about these amazing places!! We caught a number of Brook Trout in Grant Brook, which borders the property, and had wonderful hikes upstream from the cabin. We also caught many Smallmouth Bass from the dock and the mouth of Grant Brook, the largest being a 16” fatty. Nearby Millinocket (6 miles) covered all our needs for provisions and restaurants. We saw 4 moose on Rte. 11 south of the cabin and saw 2 more on our hike in the Turtle Ridge trail system. We were so busy doing our own thing that it prevented us from attending any of the LeVasseur pontoon boat rides in the late afternoon that they provide for their 5 Lakes Lodge guests…next time we’ll attend.

“Great Family Getaway!”

We just returned home from a three night stay at the cabin. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this spot to anyone. We already have been telling our friends and family. We actually live in Maine, but decided to head farther north for a little getaway with our 18 month old and 3 1/2 year old children. Our dog came along too! This one level cabin was perfect for us. Debbie and Rick are very friendly and welcoming. Their B&B is also beautiful down the road. The cabin was clean and had plenty of amenities. We brought our own groceries, but it's not too far of a drive to Hannaford if you need extra supplies. After reading other reviews I also brought along extra paper towels and trash bags. There is the master bedroom with a king bed, two twin beds and a fold out couch in the living room area and a fold out couch along with a twin bed on the closed in porch. Very secluded and the views were AMAZING! We have some beautiful pictures of the sunsets. Our children loved seeing the train go by a few times during our stay. It moves slowly and is not at all hazardous to anyone, especially those with small children. You get plenty of warning and it's a fun experience. Not at all a nuisance. It's on the property, but set far enough back to not be an issue. We used the canoe they have available and they were kind enough to run over some small life jackets for the kids. Rick had some great tips on hikes too! We have so many great memories from this trip! Thank you Rick & Debbie!

“Great location-total serenity”
Reviewed 24 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We had a wonderful week in our cabin!. Great hiking trails, and some good restaurants. Recommend River Driver's and Pelletier's. Our hosts, Rick and Debbie were terrific in giving us ideas for hikes, etc. The cabin had everything we needed..Is there a train that goes by? Yes, but it's only once a day and it only goes about 10 miles an hr. We found it rather quaint. The lake with views of Katahdin had loons ,and an eagleto greet us. Great for swimming and kayaking. If you value privacy, this is the spot!!
