The staff at The Grand bend over backwards to make your stay a fantastic one. From a welcome drink to a gift bag upon departing, they go the extra mile. There are beach passes, beach chairs and bicycles to borrow. There is an amenities station on the floor with ice, extra coffee pods, paper goods, etc. in case of need. We stayed in a balcony room that was just perfect. Comfort is a priority for them. We will surely return.

judysmoore,
Thank you for your review! I would have to agree, we do have an extremely friendly and welcoming staff here. We are happy to provide the extra amenities for our guests that make your visit here stress free and fun. The balcony rooms are such a great spot for relaxing and watching our little town in action. We would love for you to visit us again soon.

OK, the Intercontinental Madrid still remains our top fave hotel (for service & location outside the noisy downtown area) but this place is the opposite - it's in the first "block" of Kennebunk Port - near a nice wine shop; a spot across the street for breakfast or lunch or coffee and wine - HB Provisions is terrific - see my review on them; cute stores; fun albeit pricey art stores; and a direct walk to the big beach.

This hotel is so clean "feeling" with it's relaxing atmosphere as soon as you walk in - even the color tones of pretty yellowy-beige grass wallpaper (LOVE THAT!) to the friendly front desk personnel - wow, you start to chill as soon as you walk in!

The rooms are gorgeous and the ones with a balcony rock - you can sit out and people watch in to the night, or simply have a romantic drink with your significant other.

Details are so well thought out here - the walk in shower we had was awesome, as were all the fine touches like upscale fixtures.

The bed was so comfy, I'm not kidding - ask my husband - I NEVER SLEEP at home or most hotels - this one - he thought I was dead in the am, I was so honked out! I didn't want to leave to get breakfast!!!

I finally figured out what made it extra special in decor - most hotels have a huge armoire that holds the TV and maybe clothing drawers - not here - the tv is flat mounted to a wall and that gives more room for pretty bureaus! Nice touch.

The ONLY 2 negatives we have are that there is no mini frog which we would have liked for keeping a bottle of wine cool or to store leftovers. So - don't over-order at restaurants, cuz there's no place to store that yummy extra half of a lobster roll or your yummy fries from Tia's! (best restaurant, BTW -see my review on them!)

The other drawback was that we could hear most of the conversations of the couple next door - hence, the walls are not as thick as they should be. I have to say it's been a long time since I was in a hotel that had this issue....usually I may hear the rumble of a tv or low mumbles of voices, but this was almost like they were int he room with us....

Don't hesitate to stay here! You are 3 steps to the first shop.

Other places are more remote, which is also nice - if you like that better, stay at one of the properties owned by this hotel group. Very very nice. And worth the price in the summer season.

Room Tip: Get the King room because they have the nice balconies

Lolabowla,
Thank you for your review! It sounds like you truly had a fantastic stay. We would have to agree; the design of the Grand and the color palette creates a very calming atmosphere. We want our guests to be able to just relax and enjoy their time with us. The Grand room balconies are the ideal spot to people or watch or simply hang out. Guests are always raving about how comfortable our beds are. There is nothing better than a good nights sleep. We hope to welcome you back soon!

The hotel was immaculate. Staff very friendly. Champagne on arrival and a goody bag on departure. Our room(suite) was awesome. Great private Veranda. You are right in the center of town-dock square with great shops and restaurants all within walking distance.High end hotel.

The smell, colors, decor all combined to give this hotel a feeling of cleanliness. Our room was nicely appointed, and had a deck with a view of the town and river. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The front desk closed in the evening, and there was no restaurant, but everything that might be needed was right across the street at HR Provisions. Very convenient location .

We went for our honeymoon and had an absolutely fantastic week. We were there during an off season and so there was only one other couple staying at the hotel. It made for a quiet and relaxing week.

We would've probably liked a small bit of special attention or something since it was our honeymoon and we made them aware beforehand but the front reception was almost always closed. We almost felt like we were at the hotel alone.

The only negative was that there is no mini fridge to store any leftovers or microwave for things you'd want to eat in your room. (We were there a whole week and would've liked to not have had every single meal out).

However, our room was ALWAYS cleaned and everything was immaculate. An amazing price for such an amazing room. The beds are EXTREMELY comfy and the bathrooms are AMAZING. Heated floors are a HUGE plus.

We loved our stay and will definitely be back!

Courtney B,
Thank you for your review. I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us! Guests love our comfortable beds and you can't beat those heated bathroom floors; especially on the chilly Maine mornings. I do apologize that we did not celebrate your honeymoon properly. This obviously fell through the cracks. We love giving our guests extra attention especially on an occasion as special as this. I am thrilled your overall experience was a good one. We would love to welcome you back!
