Receptionist was pretty brusque and seemed in a great hurry to get us dealt with. We reserved for dinner and generally were disappointed. Service was lacking and the lobster pot pie which had been so well reviewed was not at all great. The pastry was fabulous, no doubt, but the contents were sparse on the lobster and the sauce very thin and runny and the portion small, we all thought. We left it at that and retired early.

Don't you hate it when chefs produce something worthwhile all to have it ruined by inattentive service? My wife and I visited Academe after meeting the chefs at last year's Epcot Wine and Food Festival. Our selections, the Crab Ravioli and the Lobster Pot pie, were delicious and certainly worth the trip. Too bad our waitress never checked in on us at all throughout the meal after dropping off the food. We would have requested a larger spoon to better enjoy the crab ravioli's sauce and we would have asked for a drink refill. I imagine Academe's desserts are great but I was too frustrated to find out. Food was a 5. Service was a 1. Average score =3.

Terrific meals for my wife (lobster pot pie), myself (citrus salad crab cake) and 10&12 year olds (haddock sandwich & abc soup with chicken meatballs). Staff friendly and helpful. So much yummyness on menu, would definitely come back to try more. Or, just have another lobster pot pie or two!

Culinary Institute chefs. Fantastic dining experience. In conjunction with the Kennebunk Inn. Great atmosphere. Custom ice cream for dessert along with other incredible selections such as "reverse root beer float". Vanilla soda and root beer ice cream.. Lobster pot pie had huge chunks of lobster. Also has a very nice bar. Don't pass this up.
