Review of Quoddy Bay Lobster

Quoddy Bay Lobster
Ranked #1 of 1 Quick Bites in Eastport
Certificate of Excellence
Cuisines: Seafood
Description: This is a seaside restaurants with outdoor seating only, serving fresh lobster, crab, clams, mussels and scallop dishes in a variety of ways. The chowda is to die for (not your standard, flour base, but a creamy seafood infused broth loaded with yummies). There are salads, wraps, rolls, children's portions and dinner size as well. There are a few items for land lovers, but no one in our group ordered any of them. There is a small gift shop offering local made mustards, relishes and other refreshments. Put it on your bucket list!

One of my favorite places to go Downeast for a gluten free seafood meal. Of course non GF peeps will be equally pleased. See the pick of the menu for more info. This is take out style place where you order at the counter however there are tables for 12-16 inside and Covered tables outside in the breeze on the water. Great location overlooking the St Croix river. You are likely to see Minke Wales, Humpback Wales and Fin wales as you look across to Canada. Bring a jacket the weather can go from 70degrees to 50 in an hour and there is usually a good breeze if you are sitting out side. You can bring you dog and easy walking for my senior parents, no stairs very shot walk from HC parking. I feel it is the best place in town to eat with kids. The staff is very helpful and caters to all customers. As good service as you will find in these parts.

Back to the food: great value kids choices. The chowder is good (I grew up here and every local has there own version and feel “Moms is best” thiner broth not like the Nova Scotia thick broth ) Salads are good for the area but not my health kick first choice. I would get a boiled fish like haddock sandwich and hold the bread with a side salad or have the cold slaw instead of tarter sauce. The crab cake is with Maine Crab very good but remember this is Maine rock crab very different then Blue Crab or Dungeons crab.

As you may guess 5 stars!

This place supposedly has the best lobster rolls in Maine. You can order them plain, with butter, with or without mayo. Ours were plain and delicious. Don't miss it.

My husband and I split a seafood chowder and a lobster roll and I wish we had each gotten our own, it was so good! chowder had lots of seafood and the broth was delicious. Lots of lobster meat in the roll and it was so fresh.

3 sizes of Lobster rolls ( small/kid size, regular and jumbo) available.

Tip #1: It is well worth the $6.00 to upgrade from the regular size to jumbo. You get about 50% more meat.

Tip #2: try melted butter to pour on the lobster meat (instead of mixing it with mayonnaise or salad dressing ) for the full flavour experience.

Best place in the North America for a lobster roll. It's true.

Every time we are in Maine, we have to go to Quoddy Bay Lobster. I always have the lobster roll. My husband has the scallop roll. Both are amazing.
