Owner description: A two hour sail and private charters out of Camden Harbor on the elegant Surprise, lets you experience both Camden and Penobscot Bay in a truly special and memorable way.

Will and Nicole took great care of us with lots of stories and info about Camden and the boat. They really made an effort to connect with everyone onboard and we agreed that made the difference between a cold sail and a highlight of our trip to Maine. You can bring your own snacks and alcohol and they’ll let you drive the boat if you want a photo op. There is also a bathroom to use. It was a little cold when we sailed but they had blankets onboard for us that helped a lot. We saw the Margaret Todd in Bar Harbor and we all agreed that although it is a beautiful vessel, there is no way a boat that big could match the individual attention you get on the Surprise. This lived up to all the great reviews I had read on TA before booking.

This was a great way to see the coast from the water side. Prompt interesting and beautiful. With it for sure!

This was a wonderful sunset sail. The captain and his mate were very interesting as they told us about the area as we sailed. The surprise was when my wife volunteered to raise/lower a sail and also steered the ship. This made her very happy. Affordable and worth it.

Surprise is 100 years old in 2018. The ship is in great shape and the owners are well-aware of the difficulty of keeping this ship in top condition. The trip was only two hours with little wind - that was the only day we could go. I was not overjoyed with the trip, although it was the first time my wife and I had boarded a schooner of this type. Suggest that travelers catch a day with winds of 15 mph or greater for a better experience.

Thanks for staying open an extra week. We fell into good weather which made the trip that much more enjoyable. Loved the husband/wife team. Thank you for making our honeymoon trip extra special.
