We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights because our travel agent booked the lowest cost hotel for us. The reviews here are accurate and the conditions have not been improved since these posts.

The look from the outside should already give a hint - the sign board was missing letters and few cars parked. The outside walkway had hidden potholes covered up with a cheap carpet to hide it - you wouldn't know it until you walk into it and twisted your ankle.

The room itself was disgusting. The carpet had numerous mysterious stains in it and the room smelled dank. The bedsheets were nearly cream colored from stains - nevermind the pillowcases. The bathroom was dirty with stains and hairs all over the place (was there a room cleaning before our stay?!). There was even a large spider sitting on the bath towels!! The washcloths were discolored with stains as well (I wouldn't even dry up my hands with them). The heater wasn't fully functional - after the first minute of warm air, it turns cold as if the air conditioner was switched on.

The plus side - the tv and the hair dryer works.

As for the free continental breakfast - don't kid yourself. The water cooler holds awful tasting tap water, the coffee is bland, there are Lipton teabags but no hot water to brew it in! The donuts aren't fresh (you could just walk 5 minutes up the road to a Dunkin Donuts and fresh coffee).

My husband and I decided to take my sister to a shopping trip to Bangor since she doesn't drive and would never get to go on her own. She works at a call centre and could get pretty good rates at certain hotels, so she booked the Ramada the first night, and the Travelodge the second night. We left the Ramada on Saturday morning and wanted to go up to the Travelodge to see if we could even leave our bags in the room so we didn't have to keep them in the car all day when we were shopping. We got there about 11:00 and the parking lot was empty!! We went inside to see if we could just leave our bags in the room and she said absolutely not, check in is not until 2:00 and the maid still has to clean (what a joke). We thought what in the heck is she cleaning it looks like the hotel was empty last night, surely there must have been an empty room. Anyway we went for the day and did our shopping returning to the Travelodge at 3:00 for check-in. I see why they make you pay when you check in! We drove around the building to our room and as soon as we pulled up to our door we noticed the room beside us had no door handle and it looked like the door had been kicked in. As soon as we walked inside our room the carpet under the door was all lifted and you could see where water had gotten in and rotted the floor. The room was disguisting. Good thing the maid had to clean before we checked in (HA HA). The bathroom door would not close all the way and the bathroom was disguisting. This room reminded me of a place where they would rent by the hour. We are by no means high class people and have stayed at several place not high scale (Twin City in brewer) and this was pretty bad and I would definately definately not stay there ever again, even if I was given a week free. We would not even sleep under the blankets we slept on top of them. If you are going to stay here take my word for it DON'T!!!!!!!

First of all they did not honor the internet price. Second, the place was disgusting. It was one of those places where you sleep with one eye open. And last they actually started calling the room at 9:00 am because they wanted to clean. Checkout time was 11:00am.

If you are reading the previous reviews thinking 'it cant be that bad' - it is.

The only up side is the price. We stayed after getting caught out in a snow storm, so it served it's purpose for a very small fee.

However, the rooms are in need of very basic up-keeping (open holes in walls, visible dirt/stains, floor covered in chips/hadn't been hoovered, shower is a drizzle of fine mist, lumpy bed) and unless I was caught in a blizzard again I would go out of my way to stay elsewhere. We did not stay for breakfast, in fact we got out of there as soon as we woke and (attempted to) shower.

It is hard to believe that hotels of this sub-standard still exist. I can't believe even Travelodge gave their name to this hotel.

This hotel was absolutely disgusting. I felt like this is the type of place that would be rented by the hour. We never took our socks off for fear of the uncleanliness of the place. The beds were aweful with old nasty sheets. Our toilet work for a couple hours and we'll leave it at that. And in the morning, the front desk called us an hour prior to checkout to remind us that we needed to be out on time! I didnt put on any make-up or do my hair because I couldnt stand another minute in that place!! Stay ANYWHERE but here!!
