It is an unique temple where Lord Shiva & Parvati enshrined together. The big temple tower and the stone-pillared halls represent the typical southindian architecture. It can be reached by foot (1200 steps; 45 mts) and by road (5km; 15 mts). Ganapathy temple on the hill-top tip of the hill is another attraction, but should trekked via steep rocky passage.
Ardhnaarishwar temple dharshan is a must one for all newly-wed couples of local region. People also go for Girivalam (a clockwise barefoot walk around the hill-base) to get the blessings during full moon days. The view of the hill & the temple on full moon night is just amazing. If you are here in June first week, then you can witness the annual car festival which is a mega festival and mela devoted to the Lord Ardhnaarishwarar.
