We love this B&B for many reasons, first Ashley always makes us feel welcome and we consider her a friend. The house is wonderful and all of the rooms offer privacy but I recommend the Keeneland Suite during your stay. Breakfast is always enjoyable and you get the chance to chat with other guests as well as Ashley. While off the beaten path it is a quick trip to anywhere Lexington which is a plus! We will return again for another stay!!!

We just stayed and Ashley was so wonderful to work with. This is a beautiful home in a wonderful location. We would visit again. We stayed in the Bourbon room and enjoyed the fresh baked cookies upon arrival.

Room Tip: We stayed in the bourbon room.

My wife and I recently visited Essence of the Bluegrass. It was our home for 4 nights as we visited the KY Bourbon Trail.
Upon arriving we were greeted by a very friendly Australian shep mix named "Waylon". He was a doll. Always greeting you looking for you to pet him.
The house is absolutely beautiful inside. The furniture is very comfortable for relaxing after traveling around the countryside all day.
We stayed in the Bourbon room. Fitting for our vacation. The room was furnished elegantly. The bed was very comfortable after a full day of sightseeing.
Ashley, Angela, and Christy made some amazing breakfasts for us. They were all such gracious hosts. We were set for a full day of Bourbon tastings after a very filling breakfast.
The owners of the property have a couple of horses that you can walk down to and pet.
It was nice to sit out under the gazebo in the evening with a bourbon in hand.
We will definitely be staying at Essence of the Bluegrass the next time we are in Lexington.

My wife and I stayed here for only one night, but wish it could have been longer. This is a gorgeous house in a beautiful setting of pastures and horses. It is located near both Lexington and smaller towns such as Paris, so you have a nice choice of things to do and places to go for dinner. The real treat of this bed & breakfast is Ashley, probably the sweetest innkeeper we have ever met. We had such a great time talking with her during breakfast, which was terrific! While we don't usually stay at any bed & breakfast twice, we would like to return to this one.

Very nice way for us Michiganders to be welcomed to Kentucky. Very nice place, laid back and nice people.
Got there much later than we told them to find a note on the door and everything ready for us to use like it was our own.
