We were a group of 2 families who enjoyed a fabulous week at CasalGuidi. The house was large and well kept as were the pool and garden areas. The beds were amazingly comfortable! Well equipped kitchen and BBQ were great and the dishwasher was welcome!
Mark was incredibly helpful and friendly and shared his knowledge of Olive oil making with us which we really enjoyed. He also helped us hire a bike for the week and the local company was excellent and very reasonable.
We were able to explore the area and had a day trip to Florence as well as relax by the pool which accommodated 5 big kids and a few grown ups without trouble. They all loved the diving board.
The photos don't do the house justice and we all wouldn't hesitate to recommend this villa and hope to return some day. Thanks for having us!
This villa was ideal for our large family, which included toddlers.
The location was handy- well located between Pisa and Florence airports, and with a decent supermarket and gelateria near by.
The views from the house, garden and pool were fantastic, and being up in the hills it was peaceful and tranquil. Most days we were able to sit out from breakfast to after sunset, with lovely local food and an Aperol Spritz or two.
The pool was a perfect size, with a clear definition of where it started to get deeper (great for the kids) and was safely fenced off.
Inside the villa the kitchen suited when we were cooking at home, and the various sitting rooms were lovely for the adults to lounge about and chat, while the kids adored the well stocked playroom, and could be safely left to make a noise and a mess without worry.
The bedrooms were generous with comfy beds and plenty of clean linen. And there was no shortage of bathrooms either.
Mark and Vaida were very welcoming hosts - their prepared meal on the first night (extra charge) was super tasty and a great way to start off our holiday.
Pistoia is the nearest large town (15 mins drive or about 15 Euros one way by taxi) and a lovely day out. We also got the train in to Florence from Pistoia, which of course is incredible. We drove to S Gimignano which was gorgeous, (though over an hour on winding roads if your sat nav doesn't take you on the motorway)
Pinocchio World nearby was a hit with the youngsters. And Pisa (about 1 hour drive - though the Pisa motorway exit was closed so there was lots of delays when we travelled Sep 2017) was appreciated by the adults in the group, with the kids more interested in finding some gelato, rather than viewing one of the greatest sights in Italy!
I would absolutely recommend this villa for a relaxing stay with a large group.
Wonderful farmhouse stay. Lots of bedrooms, plenty of room to spread out and enjoy..the game room was a huge hit! Vaida and Mark were wonderfully helpful from our welcome beverages to helping plan our visits in the area, restaurant recommendations and a very special chefs dinner. The property is great, great pool, everything you need! Can't wait for a return visit,

We loved every minute of our time at Casa Colonica. There was something for everyone: beautiful and comfortable farmhouse, great outdoor space including the wonderful pool, great location for discovering the beauty of Tuscany.
What makes this place truly special are Mark and Vaida. Nothing was too much trouble, they have been amazing hosts and I will be for ever grateful. My family and I had such a great time, looking forward to our next visit.
