If you don't mind the 15 minute commute to Iowa City and like nice ac-commendations with built in gambling entertainment and nice restaurant options, this is definitely a contender due to competitive pricing. The resort has a very nice setting and I am sure if you are into golfing you will enjoy the rolling golf course adjoining the resort during the golfing season. Rooms offer a very clean, luxurious layout and great views but it's prone to be very noisy (from hallway) due to lack of insulation. If you come by during the colder times of the year throughout the week, you will stuck with nothing to do. Surrounding small towns offer little to no entertainment throughout the week. Midwest country side hard at work. Unless of course you are into gambling. But don't expect to win much. This resort is known for not spitting out a lot of prices. Additional events are available throughout the year but are spares and most of the time reserved to weekends. Room rates jump up at the weekend, and one should consider driving a bit further to Kansas City or Chicago....

Room tip: 5th Floor for great view all around

My wife and I have tried to stay here twice now as a little getaway. If you have no interest in the pool and sauna area it is fine. The two times we've been here in the last 60 days the pool area is full of screaming kids. I guess we were kind of hoping that a casino resort would be a little more adult-oriented. We tried twice to relax in the sauna and we're constantly interrupted by small children diving into the sauna. Maybe it's more of a parent supervision problem I don't know. Probably won't be back.

My family and several extended family members stayed at this resort for a weekend over Christmas Break. Very nice rooms ... great pool ... the buffet in the morning was wonderful ... and the staff helped us have an enjoyable experience.

We normally do not stay at hotels of this magnitude, but we "splurged" for the weekend and truly had a great time. Although it was during the winter season, the grounds seemed nice ... likely beautiful in the summer. The hallways were quiet, and even the casino offered some entertainment. Most impressive was the idea that the craps dealer talked to my uncle and myself about the game ... explained how to play ... talked us through the different bets ... etc. It was a nice gesture and made us feel quite a bit more comfortable in the "gambling" atmosphere.

Not sure if we will come back to the area. Nonetheless, we would definitely recommend this lodging for anyone and everyone.

Room tip: Rooms in the far east wing seemed to be quieter ...

Stayed here with our family while we were in town. Clean and modern rooms, with some fun layouts with the bathrooms set up. Kid friendly which was nice and great pool area. Buffet was small but good, and clean and very well priced. Casino was clean and had a good crowd.

We booked the king suite several months ago for our Anniversary. We stay at many different hotels throughout the year and we were expecting an average suite.
We were very (pleasantly) surprised when we walked into our room!!!

It is by far the best hotel room we have ever booked!

There are 2 things that could have been better: the hallway smells like wet dog. Have no idea why.
The food in the restaurants could be better.
