We ate at Wongs on Sunday for the dim sum. We arrived at 10:45, & ordered 12 plates of dim sum. Dim sum was served within 15 minutes which is reasonable as it's cooked as ordered.

I visited this restaurant based on a review in Cityview, it did not disappoint. The lunch entree came with a choice of soup, wonton or eggroll and a nice chinese donut to start. This is a family run restaurant so don't expect frills. The service was very pleasant and attentive. The food was much better than your average run of the mill Chinese restaurant or fast food chain. A notice said they have dim sum on weekends so will have to give that a try.

My fiancé and I went here for Saturday lunch around 1:30. They were pretty busy and we waited for a table to be cleared as all tables were dirty or occupied. We thought dim sum was only on Sundays but it was also Saturday lunch time (we know for next time)! We ordered an order of vegetable egg rolls, order of crab ragoons, I ordered sesame chicken and he ordered hot braised pork. The egg rolls were pretty tasteless but the ragoons were good. I believe they were handmade as the filling wasn't mixed well. The sesame chicken had a good flavor and little spice which we like. There was a pretty of carry outs but couple tables seated after us. We are looking forward to trying dim sum next!

During a resent trip to Des Moines , Iowa. I asked a young lady at a Gas Station about finding a Good Chinese Restaurant. She advised me about two places in Johnson, Iowa off Hubbell Street. We found one of the places closed and Chopsticks was the other. It is located in a small strip Mall and after driving past it twice we found it. About two blocks from the interstate on your left hand side going North. The food we ordered Chow Main, Hot and sour Soup and shrimp egg roll were good. We noted they sold a lot of take out orders even though they had area for seating. This might have been because of some comments mention in other reviews about their Establishment. The price was very good for the amount of food served.

Our family of five visited Wong's Chopsticks restaurant tonight for a Chinese dinner. We have not tried it for Dim Sum yet, which was our goal, but we went for dinner on a Sunday night. On the plus side, it is a family restaurant, so there were two women and two men who all seemed related helping at the tables. Unfortunately, their smaller children were all also there, sitting in back, playing video games, running around or being fed. It was distracting. Through out our meal, the two main "wait staff" took phone calls for carry-out orders instead of taking care of the customers in the restaurant. It got to the point that there was a line of six people waiting for carry-out orders lined up from the cash register all the way to our table by the window! The waiters never got back to us about some forgotten part of our order or to refill our water, etc. If the food had been great, it might not had mattered, but the food was bland and not very good. We tried the hot and sour soup, which was pretty good. The steamed dumplings were also good. The entrees were not as flavorful. The ones we liked were the Mongolian Beef and the Teriyaki Chicken. The Shrimp in Lobster sauce was almost tasteless. The Sweet and Sour Chicken also had very little flavor. The pork fried rice was a bit better, but they had forgotten that part of the order and so it came at the end and we had to bring it home. Each entree comes on a larger oval plate and with rice for sharing. We are Chinese food fans from the West Coast and this was a disappointing meal. We will probably try the Dim Sum, which is only served on Saturday (11 am - 2 pm) and Sunday (9 am - 2 pm) mornings, because we love Dim Sum (which is the Chinese steamed dumplings and other steamed and shared foods for brunch), and there are few other places in the Des Moines area that serves it.
