Last night I flew into Des Moines from DFW following a tornado arriving at 2:30 AM. The roads were unsafe to drive to my reserved hotel in Urbandale. The Hampton was gracious providing me a room and making sure that I had a late check out today enabling me to get all work that I needed to complete this morning as scheduled. The facility was clean, staff was friendly, and although close to a main road and
the airport the rooms are extremely quiet. Great find after a loooooong day!

The hotel property is old. They did remodel but thin walls are thin walls... the lighting from the outside parking lot flowed into the room and lighting over top of wall unit wasn't able to turn off..Room next to lobby could hear every guest that checked in from 11pm to 4am ... got woke up several times due to hall noise!!! Only plus a 2 minute drive to airport.. but will not stay again !!

Very comfortable place to stay and very convenient to the airport. They even have to go breakfast bags ready if you are in a hurry. Staff was very friendly. I highly recommend the Hampton Inn at the Des Moines Airport.

I stayed here this past weekend when my husband and I were in town for a funeral. Check in was a breeze and the staff is very friendly. Hilton's policy is they do not have to check ID's upon check in unless they have a reason to be suspicious. This practice has always bothered me, but I am not going to knock the hotel for corporate's policy. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The only drawback was the pillows are very very flat. We had family staying down the street at the Holiday Inn, one room didn't have hot water and the other didn't have cold water. I was glad I didn't pick to stay there. Staff went above and beyond. I wanted milk in the middle the night and my husband went to the small store they have in the lobby. They don't carry milk but the front desk offered to get me some from the breakfast pantry. They didn't have to do that and I was appreciative. I didn't hear other travelers unless it was in the morning around check out time when people were being a little louder than normal. Breakfast in the morning was the standard Hampton Inn breakfast and was good as always. We like the make your own waffles. I would stay here again.

This was a great hotel. The staff was extremely polite and very helpful. The WIFI is very strong. The rooms are very nice. The staff keeps the rooms very nice. It is located near the airport for ease in and out. I would definitely stay here again.
