If you live here or you are here for a visit this is a great place for lunch downtown. They are only open until 2:00pm so watch your time. A must have is the triple pepper turkey sandwich, oh my goodness the best sandwich you will ever have. And each person when ordering gets free fresh bread to dip in parmesan olive oil, and you can ask for more. Yum is all you can say for this place. Oh and try the soup, it's the best

For me deli type places are usually the same wherever you go, but this place is very unique and creative with their ingredients. I really loved the various types of sandwiches they offered and they even had a soup/salad bar that I would love to come back and try. My only complaint was the potato salad....It was a little heavy with the mustard, which I'm not a big fan of

I have been to South Union Bread Cafe for lunch numerous times. They do a wide variety of sandwiches, all on Focaccia bread made by the restaurant. My favorite is the George's Special sandwich, which is served hot. The sandwich has the following ingredients: ham, roast pork, salami, swiss cheese, onion, pickle, mayo and mustard. The restaurant itself isn't anything fancy but it's comfortable and there is a lot of seating. On weekdays, it can get very busy near Noon. If you need to get your sandwich quickly, you can order the sandwich in advance and pick it up to go.
