Very busy. But needed to wait 1.5 hrs before putting order in. Did get appetizers which were very hood. Good service.

I am generally forgiving since everyone has a bad day/night...but this was something new. An hour after our table of eight had ordered drinks and food, our server told us that she could not turn in our order because the kitchen was so busy. She then informed us it would be at least a two hour wait to eat. We were going to a concert in less than an hour so that was clearly not going to work. The manager was no help at all.
Oh well...if you are in Clear Lake Iowa I suggest you pick another restaurant...any restaurant.
The atmosphere is very relaxed. Angie, John and the wait staff could not have been more attentive. Our meals arrived piping hot and delicious. We were checked on frequently but never as an invasion as we have had occur at times. We felt the cost was reasonable considering the quality of the meals. We suggest anyone visiting the Clear Lake, IA area stop in and see Angie and John.
Two friends and I were on an Iowa road trip and stayed in Clear Lake for an evening. Our hostess recommended The Anchor Inn which was just what we needed - sitting outside on the deck on a beautiful evening. The restaurant is across the street from the lake - not right on it. We were there on a Tuesday night which is Taco Night. We didn't order the tacos although many people did. We did have the $4 Margaritas which were wonderful. My friend and I split a burger and a salad - both looked and tasted very good. The server was very attentive. We were well taken care of. We all enjoyed this restaurant and would definitely come back!
Awww, thank you Carol!
Next time try the tacos! :)
