We stayed at the Looking Glass Inn for 3 nights in September to celebrate an Anniversary and attend the Colts game on Sunday. We really enjoyed our stay in the Crimson Room. The room included a recently updated bathroom with good water temperature and shower pressure, a flat screen TV with Cable TV/DVD player and a very comfortable bed. The Butler pantry was a few feet from our room and was stocked with free beverages and snacks each day. There was also a Microwave and fridge in the pantry to store or heat up leftovers.

The INN is located in a very quiet and safe neighbourhood just North of downtown. We made the walk downtown twice from the INN, it was roughly a 25 minute walk or a 6$ dollar UBER ride. There is parking attached to the rear of INN accessible by an alley. It was very convenient coming and going from the house all weekend long. WIFI was free, and there was a free hot breakfast on the weekend. The continental breakfast on Monday morning also was enough to hold us over for our 4 hour drive home.

The Innkeeper Tim greeted us upon arrival and gave us some helpful tips for our stay. Him and Fonda were warm and friendly hosts. We found we received very good value for the price we paid to stay at the Looking Glass Inn. We would recommend it to anyone looking to stay at somewhere different than a big hotel.

A couple of days before we arrived, we were emailed to check our arrival time and asked about any special arrangements we wanted, which was a nice touch. We were a couple of hours early, but this didn't seem to be a problem. On arrival, we got a key so we could come and go as we pleased, and a tour of the guest areas, including the Butler's pantry - free hot and cold drinks and snacks, DVDs and books to borrow at any time. We availed ourselves of those a couple of evenings, whiling our time away on the porch swing, which was wonderful.
We were offered local dining recommendations and, when we asked about bike rental, and were immediately offered the loan of the owners' bikes. What a generous touch!
Breakfast was plentiful, varied and available between 7 and 9 so we were able to take things at our leisure.
It's obvious that this is a B&B determined to be the best it can be - we had a wonderful stay, and would come again if it weren't so far away!

Maybe our expectations were too high after reading the reviews, but we were disappointed. First the good ... the inn keepers were very accommodating, the check-in was effortless, we were given a "key" to the house to enable us to come and go without disturbing anyone. Now the disappointments ... our room simply was not clean. The cream-colored carpet was soiled, there was paint chips (and dirt) still around the edges of the carpet from a recent repainting, the bathroom window sill had dust fuzz balls in the corner, you could see a thick layer of dust on the fan blades while laying in bed ... you get the picture. The mattress, while reasonably comfortable, sloped to the center.

Our housekeeper have deep cleaned everything! We apologize for anything that was overlooked. As you can see from our many great reviews about cleanliness, this isn't our norm. We hope you see you again when visiting Indy.

We really enjoyed our weekend in Indianapolis and were very pleasantly surprised with teh Looking Glass Inn. Both of us had lived in Indy (20+ years for one and 5.5 the other) and neither of us new of this hidden treasure. Off the busy streets, but so close to the Massachusetts Ave shops and restaurants. An easy trip into downtown and access to all the best that Indy has to offer.

Room tip: they offer a great break room with access to free water, coffee, soda and snacks throughout the day and evening.

We were going to Indy for a concert and found the Looking Glass. We were very impressed. We arrived on Saturday afternoon and were greeted by the owners. They introduced themselves, showed us around, then showed us to our room (Willow). The room was large with plenty of drawer space. The Inn has some nice amentities, pop, ice machine, snacks all included in the butler's pantry; house has wifi, flat screen tv (though we never turned ours on). The bed was very comfortable. The only negatives were there shower water temperature adjustment was loose (which I forgot to tell the owners about), thus it was difficult to get the temperature right. Also, this didn't bother me, but it might some people, I didn't see smoke detectors in our room, the bathroom, or the walk in closet in our room. We will definitely stay there again when we visit Indy.

Thank you for the generous compliments. We have had our maintenance man make adjustments to the shower control. Our smoke detectors are there but are white and might have blended in with the freshly painted ceiling. Let us know when you will be in town for the next concert - would love to visit with you again!
