Description: Prime 47...Indy's Steakhouse is Indianapolis's only locally owned & operated Prime Steakhouse. In addition to our wonderful steaks we offer a variety a fresh seafood and an extensive wine list. What really sets Prime 47 apart from other Indy steakhouses is our staff. Our servers work in teams of two to ensure that every guests has the Prime Experience. Set in the Majestic Building, Prime 47...Indy's Steakhouse is a site to behold. Built in 1895 for the Indiana Gas Company, this unique building has a lot to offer. From its original tile floors, marble columns and 18-foot windows to view Pennsylvania and Maryland Streets, the atmosphere starts from the ground up. Prime 47 is one of the few downtown Indianapolis steakhouses that features live music nightly.

Amazing dinner! Prime 47 hosted our Corporate directors dinner in a private dining rm fabulously. Had hors d'oeuvres of mini crab cakes, shrimp, tomatoes w/mozzarella-delicious & plentiful. preset choice of filet, chx or salmon for entree. Filet was perfection. Family style side dishes (asparagus, potatoes& mushrooms) & mix of desserts were all very well done. Their bread was even addictive.
Definitely go to this place!

My Filet Oscar was excellent - perfect cut with tasty hollandaise and plentiful crab. With great Brussels Sprouts side and a nice IPA draft, well worth $85 with tip. The "but" is for atmosphere. Regular (?) clientele can be boisterous; and, with all the stone and wood surfaces, the place is LOUD. If your looking for an elegant dinner, stick with best - Capital Grill, St. Elmo's, or Ruth's Chris.

Beautiful building, excellent food, service was top notch. Great choices and helpful waiters to explain the menu. A very enjoyable experience. However, this is not cheap eats, bring your wallet for this place, but it nice to splurge occasionally.

A great steakhouse with knowledgeable and attentive staff. Great wine list. Portions are big so unless you're ordering the filet, you might want to share. Sides are a la carte. High ceilings, beautiful architecture but very loud and sometimes hard to have a conversation. Check out the wine cellar if you get a chance. Very cool.

Dined here with 9 people. We were put in the "other" room away from the piano player. Our room was filled with high school prom guests. We were celebrating a college graduation. Service (with Adam) was HORRIFIC. Wine and drinks came AFTER appetizers. Sides were COLD--when we complained Adam's response was "that's what you get for family style dining". What? Beef was good. Do NOT order the scallops. They were so burnt it was as though you were eating barbecue coal. Returned it but never received another entree because service was sooooooooooooo slow. Spoke to Brandon? but manager wasn't there. He gave us a "free" dessert which we didn't want and a glass of wine? We would never go back and we urge others to go to other fine steak houses in the area. Please!!
