This is a regular breakfast spot for me when I am in town. It's predictable, the service is fast, and the food is good.

I've only been to a half dozen Cracker Barrel's in as many states. This one was the first one that was disappointing. The staff was friendly and checked on us a few times during the meal. The dining room however was very loud. Even yelling at each other across the table we couldn't understand what each other was saying. The food wasn't great either. Well, the new kale and cranberry side salad was great but the rest was not. The turnip greens tasted canned and were overcooked. The cornbread was quite greasy and the biscuits more bland than the usual biscuit. I usually get the haddock meal and did this time as well but that fish was borderline bad. Instead of clean and light tasting it was sharp and fishy. The breading was very salty as well. We ordered several salads and I ordered vinaigrette with mine but got French. She brought Italian saying it was vinaigrette but it was definitely creamy Italian. The inside was smoke-free but the addicts congregated at the entrance so getting and out was bad. The staff was offering free samples of the craft sodas they sold so that was nice.

Its the regular consistent Cracker Barrel food and the coffee is good and the service is good. Had an omelet which was not on the menu but asked and they made it for me. It was ok. I am a food snob so it wasn't an omelet like I would make. But it is reliable no natter which one you stop at.

We usually eat breakfast at Cracker Barrel restaurants. This is the first time we have gone to this particular Cracker Barrel, and we did come in for a late dinner at 10:00 PM due to travel delays. The food was horrible. The chicken and dumplings were served cold and had poor flavor. The meatloaf was served cold. The cod was served cold, and the staff even admitted it was not cooked to order, but kept in a warmer. The side of grits was cold and bland. Out of cornbread! We would have been better off going to Subway or McDonalds!! We learned our lesson... no more dinners at Cracker Barrel restaurants!! Staff was quite nice.

In what turned out to be a great coincidence, we ate supper here at Cracker Barrel on Monday April 3 on our way out east, and again on our return trip back home on April 12. It was quite a coincidence that we were passing Crawfordsville at suppertime on both of those days. Our first visit was exceptional - service was very quick and the food was great. The second visit was not as good. We arrived and we could see that the restaurant was very full, but we were seated right away and there were other empty tables. We waited 10 minutes after being seated and our server never came and introduced herself, so we asked the hostess if our server was not aware that we had been seated and were waiting to order. It was then that they informed us that a bus had just arrived and they were very busy. The hostess took our food order and everything worked out fine after that. The food again was good and we had no other complaints other than the initial wait to order our food. Our stop ended up being a bit longer than we wanted (we still had miles to go before we slept), but that's life. No big deal. We would definitely stop again, but would probably check the parking lot for busses!
