Dinner at large pier hotel on Saturday night was great. Table by open fire made a welcomed treat away from the cold 13 degrees outside. Place was busy yet food was quick to be served. I ordered the beaf snitzel with pepper sauce. It was tender and delish. Guests ordered fish and received two fillets, chips and salad the beaf pie looked also great. Staff friendly and the place was not noisy

What a warming inviting hotel. we stayed in the heritage section room 7. wow you had your own lounge room leading into the bathroom with a nice big bath. the TV was hugh. did not need reading glasses for that one. the fridge was disguised in a cupboard underneath with a complimentary bottle of water. the gas wood fires in the lounge downstairs were great. I loved the lounges in the bedrooms and the hotel area. very comfy

The food was poor.
Beef snitty for $21.50 with a tap beer for lunch at 12.45 and its 7pm and I am still burping that acid tasting granulated garlic :(

Slabbed on top of 1/2 reasonable chips just so its impossible to cut without spilling your meal all over the opaque varnish on the table.

The salad was one slice of cucumber with a dice sized piece of fetta and one soggy pitted black olive amongst 1/2 day or full day old bagged lettuce mix.

None of the crumbs were crisp on the reasonably nice meat.

Lucky I had my swiss army pocket knife with me as the supplied knife would cause friction burns and set the fire alarm off before getting through the soft snitty.

The little white bread roll and the packaged butter was the best part of the meal and I should have just ordered a dozen of them.

The Dianne (granulated garlic and gravox) sauce cost $1.50 extra and as I had the swiss army knife with me the plastic toothpick had most of the granules out before I hit the southern expressway at 5pm.

The cold fat yack summer ale (included in the price for a reason now obvious) was awesome and was the only saving grace.

I used to frequent meals at this pub but never again

4 werps or 1 star by me.
Really bloody disappointed :(
