This was a stop on a tour for us. I wasn't really sure how great it would be, but it turned out to be very interesting. Even if you are not into horses, it is a fascinating place to learn the business side of horse breeding. The tour was really great. The guide ,mary, was very informative and entertaining. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. As a bonus, in march , there were many newly born horses. Very cute.

There is a cafe on site and a Japanese garden, as well.
There is a charge to enter both attractions. Fascinating and worth a trip.

This was our second visit at a different time of year and as a OTTB owner and enthusiast it was fabulous to see all of the mares and their foals. The pastures are so visit-friendly. We spent so much time loving on some of the people friendly colts, fillies, and mares. The grounds are so gorgeous that even on a drizzly day, a better time could not have been had. The little restaurant has never disappointed with lunch and the dining area has been expanded since the last time we were there.

What a wonderful place to visit. The garden is lovely and will only be more beautiful in the summer. The horses are well looked after and the stables are big and cosy. I was surprised that we could get so close to the stallions. The cafe food is really good and tasty

Beautiful gardens and leisurely walk around the stud. It was made very special by the young foals and the colours in the gardens but St Fiachra's garden is a little oasis of peace and tranquility, with a beautiful water feature.

This is a real stand out experience of such an integral part of both Kildare and Irish history. Even for someone like me who knows nothing about horses - this was a real eye opener. What an introduction to such an important industry for Ireland. I had no idea, that the National Stud was so many things. Brilliant all-round family visit. Well worth it!
