It stretches some 20 k I am told and follows the Torrens to the sea. Both sides have walk/cycle paths and the scenery changes in nature as you progress along it. Plenty of viewing points, loads of park areas, play areas etc at frequent intervals. It is well used but still somehow peaceful and calming. Loads of wild life. At the moment there is one section where there is a detour as the path was damaged in the 2016 storms and is still not fixed.
I love it for exercise or a gentle stroll.

We walked to the River from the National Wine Centre. It wasn't our plan and we just followed the road signs to get there. It was so clean, quiet and beautiful. There were people running or cycling. We walked through Angas Gardens and Grundy Gardens. It was a great sight-seeing activity.

Park in Bonython Park and walk around look over the Weir especially if is wet or has been really exciting, thrilling with water gushing over. Get an ice cream just across the Weir. Choose your path left or right side walk along follow the path check out the BBQ Buoys continue along the river to the exceptional Adelaide Oval you can then cross the new walk bridge and head back to the Weir stop off at RBar for a wine sitting overlooking the River Torrens. Or continue past Adelaide Oval cross King William Street head along War Memorial Drive past the Rowing Clubs you can even go to the Zoo. Walk around head back toward The Festival Centre rejoin the path toward the Weir back to Bonython Park.

Like most great cities adelaide has a river running through that adds to its beauty. the linear park trail has many highlights;
The views from near the zoo towards adelaide oval and cathedral
Henley beach
Bonython Park playspace
Riverbank precinct with the footbridge to Adelaide Oval
Hopping on a river cruise

It’s a great way to see more of adelaide and surrounds
