A reunion evening with a friend and our families turned into a nightmare. I called several hotels and found that the Hampton Inn & Suites in St. Charles had what I required, connecting rooms and a pool.
Fast forward a few hours. Upon arrival, there are not 2 connected rooms for us and, pool is broken. The exasperated check in employee said that even though I called the local number for the hotel, I spoke with the 800# reservation people. Apparently when you call the hotel's local number and press 1 for reservations as it instructs, it sends you to the 800# reservations.
Theresa found us rooms at a neighboring hotel who's pool was working (even though it was more like an oversized puddle.)
What did we receive for the multiple inconveniences and broken reservations - nothing.More
