If you are a train enthusiast, (e.g., nut), this is the place for you. It's between a busy crossing that splits BNSF and UP trains on a regular basis on to one of two double-track east bound sections, or merges them on to the westbound or northwest bound rails.

What you get:
A caboose
A small switch engine (diesel)
A smaller switch engine (diesel)
Lots of rolling stock
Two pavilions (one for the Lincoln Highway, and the other, lined with hobo signs, which has the dispatcher to train and train to dispatcher patter running on the speaker, which sits smack dab in the middle of the rails.

There is also a gift shop with snacks and drinks, and it sells the usual gift shop stuff.

We went on a cold (but happily, not snowy day in March), and watched some stock roll by. This place is at the corners of "no" and "where" in the middle of the city, so put it in your GPS since it's not on the main drag.

There is a good amount of parking, and we found a few spots open on this sunny Sunday afternoon.

If you love watching trains go by, you'll love this place.

No fences, so keep the young ones on a tight leash.

One of the few railroad diamonds in the US.places to sit. A couple of old trains to look at. On site gift shop with limited snacks available. But that's ok. See my review on Dog Hub. They deliver. I have been here several times. Limited shade in summer.and it gets hot there. Good news restrooms with plumbing. Go see where Union Pacific and Burlinton Nothern cross the diamond.

This is a great place for rail fans! The diamond crossing sees some 90 trains per day and has a covered viewing deck with picnic tables and a park style grill nearby. There is also electrical. The park also has a static display of an industrial engine that was produced in the area. There is a gift shop as well. The rail park is about 50 miles from the Illinois Railway Museum so it is a great add on to a visit to that attraction as well. If one is so inclined the radio frequencies for Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Santa Fe are posted so that one can monitor radio transmissions.

Not much of a train fan myself they are way too loud and boring for me. It is a little area with a covered area for train watching and a little museum that is open limited hours. If you love trains or your kid does this is a cute outing for a bit.

This is a great spot for anyone that enjoys trains. The gift shop was hot and the cashier wasn't very friendly...
