Had a wonderful time at Bistro Wasabi catching up with an old friend. We started off with a couple of drinks and chatted for a good 45 min before ordering. No pressure or rush what so ever. The restaurant is modern in style with stone tables, hardwood floors and white walls everywhere. The surprise; we could converse and hear without having to raise a voice, and the restaurant was busy. Great ambiance.
We focused on sushi and sashimi, with a few other dishes. The avocado tempura was an interesting and good new dish to try. The shrimp in spicy sauce were outstanding. The spicy tuna roll was appropriately spicy without excessive sauce. No covering up of flavor by drowning in sauce. Excellent preparations. The sashimi was outstanding. We had the hamachi, toro and saki. All were top quality, perfect thickness, bites with a clear ocean flavor. Very good indeed.
Service was totally on point and paced the meal consistent with the queues they received from us. The table beside us turned over three times. They were served at the pace that they set. We were never rushed, enjoyed fine plates spaced across the span of the evening.
Well don Bistro Wasabi.
