I love going to Antons to get a great salad. The salad bar is huge with many options. It's always fresh and clean but also happens to be on the expensive side. I guess you get what you pay for though!

The prepared foods are also very good and I like that they have a nice soup bar too- especially in the cold winter months.

The staff is incredibly friendly and always willing to assist.

I also love the garden center in the spring. They have the best hanging flower baskets around and they last all summer long. Well worth the price Additionally, they might not appear as a florist, but they have gorgeous flowers and make beautiful arrangements. I like going in and writing my own card to accompany the lovely flowers.

Maybe you have tickets to Ravinia and need a quick picnic spread. Maybe you have a morning meeting in Northbrook and need a hot bowl of homemade soup to make it through the afternoon. Maybe your friend is on her way for dinner and you totally forgot to pick up food for ten-don't worry, Antons is just off 41, they have a great hot bar and lots of house made entrees and sides. I stop by here for "just one thing" about once a week and they have saved my kids from starving many, many times. Not cheap but well made, tasty, and fresh. And of course, cheaper than a restaurant.

This place is well known for high quality produce and for being a beautiful place to buy plants and flowers for gifts. Their produce is a cut above the local groceries and they are in a great location near the highway.

I have been shopping at Anton's for decades.
The salad bar (including cut fruit) is $7.49 a pound. This makes their gorgeous prepared fresh fruit cups -- on ice -- a bargain at $6.99 a pound.
The hot bar is $7.99, with soups, stews, chili, entrees and sides.
In addition to their own bakery label, they also carry products from the very popular Leonard's Bakery. Try Leonard's butter cookies, turtle coffee cake, or chocolate-covered mandle bread.
The deli offers great sandwiches, wraps, and salads.
The produce section is quite nice.
Check out the flower cooler for lovely single stems and arrangements.
This is a great place to pick up your picnic meal for home, or nearby Ravinia and/or the Botanic Gardens.

Part of a fresh fruit and vegetable store, Anton's has a great salad bar, as well as a hot food bar, a deli and a bakery. Pick up something here and go to Ravinia or the Botanical Gardens for a picnic. They also have flowers and plants during the season.
