Went here with some friends, for a drink, last night. The new management clearly needs to employ someone who knows how to look after and serve beer. Both potentially available real ales were not available as the new barrels were not ready. One of the lagers was barely drinkable and the guinness was unbelievably bad. The barman didn't even know what a lager shandy was!
Didn't try the food, so that may be fine.

Hello WiltshireRetiree. As I explained to you on the night, we'd had a problem in the cellar resulting in our real ales being moved and therefore not up to standard to serve. The new barrels were not ready as we simply hadn't envisaged any problems occurring. I could have said nothing and just taken your money but it's not how I operate and you thanked me for my honesty on the situation. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the lager or guinness, we've sold over 100ltrs of both without any complaint and the barman that you asked for a lager shandy was actually a 15 year old girl cleaning the glasses. It's quite refreshing that she didn't know how to pour you your drink. You didn't try the food so no comment is necessary. Thank you.

We were thrilled to hear that one of our favourite places to eat was reopening- and it certainly did not disappoint! We ate there on Saturday evening and were thoroughly impressed- it’s every bit as amazing as it used to be. The service was fantastic, the atmosphere cosy and welcoming, and the food delicious- the menu has some nice variety without being overwhelming. Personally I had the hake fillet with crab risotto and would highly recommend that dish, and am looking forward to returning to try some of the others they have on offer. Very satisfied with the overall experience and would definitely recommend.

Ah, thank you so much BloggerDisney. We are really happy to have re-opened the Somerford Arms and have had such wonderful support from people. It's a delight to be able to do a job we love - especially when it's appreciated like this! I know I'm biased but the crab risotto really is delicious! Thanks again and we look forward to your next visit.

Thanks Christopher, our chicken liver pate is excellent! I'm,sorry you felt the veg portions were too small, I would happily have brought you some more. Also sorry that you found the beef tough. It's from an excellent supplier and we sold so many portions that day I can only imagine you had the stray bad piece. Please come and try us again!

We were regulars to this pub once upon a time when the food was high quality bistro standard, thanks to Paul in the kitchen. Since this talented chef left there has been a marked downwards shift to “home cooking”. Ok in Calne maybe, but not right for Little Somerford.
As a previous post said, it’s no longer a “go-to” place for a special meal out, more a option when your oven breaks down.
So sad, because the good folk from The Somerfords area are used to better.
