Skip the chains and eat local. Dukes has a great beer selection and farm to table options. Located in vibrant downtown for fun shopping and next to Metra. Love their beet salad and homemade mac and cheese

We found this for lunch while wandering around town, and were so happy we did.
The atmosphere is rustic and charming. I am impressed whenever I see fresh flowers in a restaurant, and this even had beautiful arrangements in the bathrooms.
They have an extensive beer menu, and even offer small (3.5 ounces)glasses to try different ones, at $2 and $3 each
We had the bison burgers and they were from a local farm and were excellent. Most of the items on the menu are from local sources.
Our side dishes were excellent as well.
There is a nice variety of vegetarian and vegan choices too Even vegan desserts.

My fiance and I go here at least once a month, we love the craft beer selection and their food. They have a wide variety for vegetarian and vegan tastes.

We have been to Duke's many times over the years. We prefer to support the local places rather than the big chains. But we were sooo disappointed tonight. My son ordered the corned beef and cabbage, being St. Patricks week. There was so much fat on the corned beef it was disgusting. There was more fat than meat on the slices. Our dogs are going to enjoy it. And it was $17.00. I ordered the Irish Beef Stew. It came in a big bowl. Looked like soup. Maybe 1 carrot was cut up, no potatoes, 4 tiny pieces of meat one of which was all fat. About 3 cups of sauce. $10.00. My husband ordered the bison burger. For $15.00 it was a small patty. Not worth it. Overall a very disappointing $60.00 meal including tip and 2 $4.00 beers. The waiter never came back except to give us the bill so we did not say anything. Had a manager come and asked how our meal was we could have told them. Probably won't be going back. Ever.
