The two of us had 7pm reservations on a Saturday night. We were seated promptly at a table with plenty of room. We started off the the crab cakes. They were delicate and very flavorful. I then had the wedge salad. It was loaded with blue cheese, bacon and the tomatoes were wonderful! My dining partner had the lobster bisque. It was very flavorful and rich. The only down side was the lobster was extremely small serving, tough and overcooked. We both had the signature dish of the pepperloin done medium. I had the green beans and my dining partner had the baked potato. Our only mistake was ordering the 10 ounce or the mid size serving. We could have easily done the smaller 8 ounce serving and still had plenty left over (Not really a mistake because the take home was still fantastic the next day). The beef was tender in every bite. Their pepperloin sauce was great! My green beans were even extremely good, crisp yet tender. One of those side dishes that you could make a meal out of on itself. We ordered the side of mushrooms to go with the loin. also a winner. The sommelier stop by with tasting sample of wines. We ordered one of the glasses of wine he suggested. A wonderful selection. Our server comped the deserts as it was our anniversary of the carrot cake and the chocolate cake both of which we had to go as we could not eat another bite. Save room for dessert or take them home as we did, you won't be disappointed. The evening flowed smoothly. We were there for an hour and a half, as we were not rushed nor waiting. Our bill was $149 with one glass of wine. A very enjoyable evening and worth the price.

When staying at the DoubleTree Hotel in Collinsville, Illinois, we have breakfast in the Porter's Steakhouse dining room. The breakfast brunch is excellent. In addition to prepared breakfast eggs, meats and oatmeal, the buffet features fresh fruit and yogurt, made-to-order omelettes, smoked salmon and bagels, breakfast pastries and breads, and more.

Menu items that make this brunch exceptional:

- Starbucks coffee: A carafe of hot coffee is left on your table.

- Fresh croissants:. Among the breakfast pastries are fresh croissants, not the ones that look like croissants but are actually bread. These croissants are crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. They must be baked fresh daily.

- Walnuts and almonds: Near the oatmeal, are condiments that can be added to the hot cereal. This includes walnuts and sliced almonds.

Superb service and very tasty food. Tried almost everything in the menu over time. Only crab cakes did not impress me. The rest is quite impressive. Highly recommend!

Checked in after 7 hours on the road and came here for dinner as folks said how good it is.
Given a table promptly but waited quite a while for a staff member to come by for drink/dinner order.
We received drinks and appetizer (carpaccio which was good) and waited and waited and waited. There was one other table with folks and they were in the same position. After 45 minutes they got food and we continued to sit. The waiter came by and said dinner would arrive shortly and he would comp dessert for the wait
After an hour plus and no food we said we were leaving, the hostess said she would get the waiter. Instead, the manager arrived and said they had equipment issues (why we weren't told this when we were seated and given an option to leave is a mystery) and things were slow and he would comp the meal. At this point I just wanted a shower and asked if they could deliver the food to the room, which they did. It arrived in a paper bag in to go containers. I would have thought room service trays and real utensils would have been warranted.
The food served in paper with plastic utensils was okay but certainly not the experience we expected when we showed up to dine. Not impressed with how the situation was handled from start to finish

Had dinner while on a work trip - filet mignon was so tender, lobster Mac n cheese was awesome, and lobster bisque was delicious. Great service, had a glass of house cabernet which complimented the steak perfectly. Definitely would eat here again.
