“Decent Indian food!!”
Reviewed 12 February 2012

Went here after a long day at the convention center. Was not crowded, but the service could use some improvement. Everybody seems to be so busy with only 5 tables and less than 10 customers in the restaurant.. Food was decent...

“buffet is value for money”
Reviewed 17 January 2012

This is the best Indian lunch buffet in the Chicago Downtown area. Food is always fresh and the service is excellent! Highly recommend for anyone who wants to spend $10 on a lunch, this is the place to go! The location is really good as well, just off Michigan Ave.

“Aesthetically pleasing food, not so aesthetically pleasing space.”
Reviewed 8 January 2012

Gaylord has two separate spaces within the overall building. The first space is the bar area, which was designed rather impressively, tray ceilings and mood lighting abound; chic to a high degree. The second space was more of a podunk atmosphere. The colors were not appropriately correlated and the chosen fabrics clashed with the carpet. The service was first rate, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was the best part of the experience,. We did not partake in the buffet however, the individual entrees were outstanding. The samosas were most notably wonderful. Would recommend to all friends and business colleges alike.

“New location hidden away @100 E. Walton”
Reviewed 22 December 2011

Since they moved into their current location at 100 E. Walton (half flight down) they don't have the drive-by appeal that they did in the old Wacker hotel (now Hotel Felix) but the food is still very, very good. Don't go at lunch for the buffet. You want Indian food fresh cooker to order. That's why they got one less star rating than they really deserve.

“Gracious welcome for Happy Hour”
Reviewed 2 December 2011

Made famous by Oprah Winfrey's passion for pomegranate martinis and visits by the Obamas at the former location, this slightly hidden gem is just off the Magnificent Mile of Michigan Avenue. I stopped by on Black Friday for a quiet moment while I waited for my daughter, and had one of those famous martinis. Although a bit pricey at $9, it came with complementary appetizers -- shredded and fried okra, and samosas -- both delightful, and an open veggie table in the dining area. The martini lived up to the hype, and the food was great. But the lovely young bartender from Eastern Europe (and I am so sorry I can't remember her name!), was charming, and made me feel very welcome. I'll go back for dinner the next time I visit Chicago!
