Our server was really helpful explaining the dishes and what to order. We ordered their signature pork dish, which was very filling, the salted beets, that were incredible and the roasted broccoli, also an excellent dish. We went for lunch and sat out on the enclosed patio. It was much quieter out there. Would definitely go back.

We went during the lunch rush on a Monday afternoon. We were seated immediately inside (3 of us). The seating is cozy, as you can have a business lunch and good a date type ambiance. Trendy environment, located downtown. We could walk from our Hotel Julian on Michigan Ave to the Purple Pig. I don't eat pork myself, and am allergic to shellfish, but I was able to still have a variety of options. I recommend the Salmon, and beat dish! Unfortunately we were too full to try any of the dessert. But they looked amazing from the other tables... The service was great too and the food came really quickly!

After a quick 30 min wait last Wednesday, we were seated at a big table with some friendly business people. We had the pork belly, bowl of broccoli and a special scallops entree. The food was wonderful with lots of flavor. Fun place and good food.

This place is a lot of fun. I took one star away as I had better food in Chicago, but "very good" is nothing to complain about. Wish they would do reservations but with a little patience they will accommodate you.

We dropped in about 5:30 after a walking tour, when we were dead on our feet. Several interesting dishes, but the Octopus was definitely the best. A good choice of beers, but make sure you check the price first - we ordered one that was over $50 a bottle, as we hadnt checked the price first - our mistake not theirs, but it hadnt occurred to me that beer could be that expensive. A good find in a touristy area, popular - but justifiably so.
