Owner description: This 70-acre park is located in the Lemhi and Salmon River Valleys in eastern Idaho. It is surrounded by the Beaverhead Mountains and the Continental Divide and borders the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. The Sacajawea Interpretive, Cultural & Educational Center interprets the rich cultural and natural history of the Salmon and Lemhi River Country, deepening people’s connection to the unique place this area holds in our nation’s history, which was shaped in part by the Lewis and Clark Expedition and Sacajawea, as well as her people, the Agaidika Shoshone-Bannock Tribes. The Sacajawea Center is owned and operated by the City of Salmon. Our mission is to foster the knowledge and appreciation of the Agaidika Shoshone-Bannock Tribes, the Lewis & Clark Expedition, Western frontier life, and the natural environment.

Took the dogs down for a nice walk. Beautiful self guided history lesson. Love the educational component. I didn't get to go inside the visitors center ot theater because of the fur babies. Next time.

Nothing much to see, cost was very high! Will not go again! Have stopped at other Lewis and Clark things that are much better and FREE!

There is so much great information here about the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Of course, this area is Sacagawea's birthplace so everyone is very interested in her as well as in the whole Corps of Discovery. Nice museum, good short movie, beautiful nature trails, knowledgeable volunteers, uncrowded. Only $5, which is a bargain for what you get to see. Easy to get to as it is right down the highway from the town of Salmon. You will need a few hours if you walk the trails. For the museum, an hour will do. In the winter the acreage is fun for XC skiing as well. Located in a beautiful area.

Very nice greeting from the gal at the desk. Reasonable price to tour the building and grounds. Lots of information about Lewis and Clark and Sacagawea. The town of Salmon claims to be her birth place.
