This place is super comfortable and well-located. I've stayed in the Treetop Suite twice and love being able to make a cup of coffee in the morning and sit out on the little deck. There's lots of space, a comfortable bed, good seating in the living room, and a functional kitchen - functional enough for a guy on vacation, at least. And the hosts leave mini-brownies out for the guests. Yum.
One great thing about the Guest House is that it's very close to Boise's active downtown restaurant and entertainment areas, but far enough away that it's quiet and peaceful. There are some state office buildings nearby but these clear out in the evenings. That makes for good sleeping.
I have really enjoyed visiting Boise itself. There are interesting restaurants, a ton of brewpubs with some very good beer, lots of nice coffee and breakfast spots. The river runs right through the middle of town and is lined on both sides with jogging and bicycling trails. There are several good in-town day hikes, and it's easy to get out of town to nearby trail heads up in the mountains.
I've now been in July - too hot for my tastes - and April, which was great. Planning a late September trip now for some fall hiking. A really refreshing getaway, and the Guest House is my go-to place to stay.More
