The worst hotel I've ever stayed in. My family took a trip from Charlotte to Atlanta to go to the zoo and aquarium, we booked this hotel online, sight unseen. The photos were much better online than in person. The hotel is old and in need of repair. It's in a bad neighborhood. We got three separate rooms because we traveled with 5 children and three adults. The rates were high for the quality of the room. The rooms had dust and not the cleanest ...but we were forced to stay because many hotels were booked up. I took a shower and when I came out of the bathroom an ENORMOUS ROACH surfaced and ran across the floor!! If there's one ....he has friends! We told the manager and they doubted our story UNTIL my husband showed up with the NASTY critter on a plate and presented it to them. We checked out of all three rooms immediately and had to wake up the children at midnight to drive across town to the CLEAN SHERATON !!! Do not stay here....it was a nightmare!

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, as a result of an auto mechanical failure on I-75, and the car had to be fixed. The overall experience, from the General Manager to the entire Staff was superb, professional, and very personal. They went out of their way to make us feel at home, took care of all our needs and much more, and ensured our care & safety. This hotel ranks as one of the "best" in my experience. I have been a global business executive, for a leading IT Services firm, and have travelled and stayed in over 50 countries. This experience ranks among many of the superior properties, due to the attention of the staff and their care.

Room Tip: 2nd floor rooms seem to be overall quieter.

This was by far the WORST OF THE WORST choices that we made when we decided to use this hotel as our choice for the annual church trip for our youth. We chose the Comfort Inn & suites Galleria in Smyrna, GA. Our vehicles were broken into on the first night of our stay even though there were security cameras and supposedly"security detail" that no one seemed to be able to name for the police. There was no available footage because there was no recording available to review. The rooms were suppose to be "non smoking" but I think stale smoke would have been better than that musty funk that was in the rooms. Giving credit where credit is most certainly due, the front desk supervisor, Ms. Dorthea McCladdie and another manager was the only saving grace in that entire situation. Their kindness and compassion was truly a God-send. Not only did the owner of the hotel come out and look at our group but offered no assistance, he did it at least 6 times. We request a refund for the remaining stay and that's where the rest of the nightmare began because our church group had to find a safe location to continue our stay in Atlanta. After hours of going back and forth, it was finally agreed that all could check out without being charged for another night. The only problem was that all of our accounts had been placed on hold and thus prevented some members from paying the higher cost of the second hotel. It took 3 hours and numerous prayers, and request to get the accounts released so that we could leave. Ms. McCladdie was calm, patient, and helpful throughout the entire ordeal.
Today is Monday, and I am finally able to clear my charges and receive reimbursement for the unused, unsafe stay in Smyrna, GA. YOU ARE CORRECT, "WE ALWAYS HAVE A CHOICE" AND USING THE COMFORT INN & SUITES GALLERIA IN SMYRNA, GA. WILL NEVER BE ONE OF THEM AGAIN. LESSON LEARNED!!!

Room Tip: Even though they advertise non-smoking, the rooms have a stale odor and a smell that indicated the carpet in need of replacing or serious cleaning. The pool advertised is not the pool inside. The pool is more of a 4x 6 and really is for children

Too expensive!!! (there are other hotels in the vicinity that are much better and less expensive) Horrible bedding; hotel in desperate need of updating. We had to change rooms because of cigarette smoke and the second wasn't much better. Threadbare towels and 6 inch mattresses, are you kidding? We were using points for 4 nights and left after one. I slept fully clothed; it felt that yucky in there. This was supposed to be a queen suite, but is just a big room with two beds and a sofa; no extra t.v. No divider. If this is how Choice treats "Elite Platinum" points users.....don't bother. I'll stay somewhere else. Oh, and how nice of them to put us next to the car wash. I asked for an upgrade to a full suite that "maybe" had been renovated but no luck. Their renovation has consisted of painting and carpet, that's it. The girl at the front desk said it should be completed by end of the year.

Hotel undergoing renovations Sign said to be completed by February, 2015. Not finished yet. Room seemed clean but furniture was very beat-up. Toilet wobbled on floor. Nearby restaurants limited to fast food. I cannot say for certain, but I believe I may have gotten bug bites from the room as I developed welts on my arm the following day
