7 series BMW to use at will was an amazing feature. Ambiance was as advertised, very rich and historic feel. Property was beautiful. Staff was eager to help yet unobtrusive.

Our sink stopper didnt work on one of the bathroom sinks, wasnt an issue as we had 2 sinks. Adjacent airport had planes fly directly over the property, within a few hundred feet at times. Quite loud, but still interesting and not really a major bother.

The sea island sister properties arent particularly close, but borrow a BMW and make the short drive over to the Cloister to enjoy an amazing meal at the Georgian Room. Make reservations in advance!

The grounds are beautiful, be sure to explore.

My wife and I spent her birthday w/e at The Lodge at Sea Island. The first time, hopefully not the last, its a beautiful, historic property, lovely grounds. I'm not a golfer but can appreciate a beautiful hotel and who doesn't like excellent service? Carly in reservations was wonderful, as were our butlers Jim and Walter. We were fortunate enough to stay in room 34 which has arguably the best view for the bagpiper at sunset, which is really special. We also took advantage of the sister hotel, The Cloisters and had a nice day the Beach Club and a fabulous dinner at the River Bar. Our servers at River Bar, Christopher and Antoine, clearly have pride in their restaurant and deservedly so. I don't even like red snapper, but Antoine did such an incredible job of describing it I almost ordered it. On our last day, we went for a beach horseback ride which was also fantastic. When not enjoying the two fabulous properties, we really enjoyed walking around St. Simons, lots of nice shops. Highly recommend a visit.

Room Tip: ask for top floor golf course view. Room 34, in particular, has a great view for evening bagpiper.

This was our third visit. The Lodge is superb. Accommodations are always comfortable. Butlers are assigned to you for everything.
The golf instruction is just unmatched. We team up with Chrissy Felton and Gale Peterson and they are just awesome. The golf courses are tough and well maintained. Ask for Zack as your caddy.
The spa over at the Cloisters is just beautiful and the massages are masterful.
Our only criticism is that the food is nothing special but very overpriced. There are so many great restaurants in St Simons Island that you should make the effort to drive off the resort.
Make an effort to get to Sea Island and love the experience.

Be sure to enjoy the bagpiper every evening--he slowly strolls up and down the fairway in front of the ocean, while playing.

Room 8 has a very large balcony and we enjoyed a few adult beverages (and cigars) under the star lit sky watching a multitude of planes coming into the airport which is close by.

Room Tip: Handicap room 32 was very nice and easily accommodated my mobility problems

This is a beautiful place, with great, attentive service. I cannot wait to go back. The Oak Room had great food for breakfast and seafood for dinner. I had one of the best steaks of my life at the Colt and Alison. I would definitely recommend staying here.
