Not much going on as we went in the winter, but it was still well maintained and the video was surprisingly interesting. I know that sounds bad, but it was not your typical zooming up on some old artwork while the narrator explains what happend there.

Very interesting to look at all the old ruins and imagine life as it was in the era of the fort.

History buffs will enjoy. There isn't much left of the fort or the town, but the foundations have been recovered and well reserched with signs. Good film and exhibits in the little museum. Probably not a kid place, but if you want to know how the British intended to fend off the potentially invading Spanish and a bit about life in the the late 1700's, you will enjoy. Allow 2 hrs.

We stopped in here and enjoyed the grounds and interpretive placards, walking around and seeing a piece of GA history. Very nice view at the waterfront, and don't miss the Seville oranges!

Fort Frederica is presented well. There is a good introductory movie and an interesting museum to view before walking outside to the grounds of the colonial town. Plaques telling about the houses and their occupants are quite informative without being dull, and the grounds are spacious and beautiful.

Fall, winter, and spring are better times to visit here than summer because of the sand gnats. It also is better to choose a breezy day. Although there is a small fee for entrance, using a national parks senior pass is a good way to save. It may be bought here for $10 and is good for four admissions per visit for the rest of the buyer's life at all national parks and monuments. It's hard to think of a better bargain.
