Attended a conference at the Jekyll Convention Center, and stayed here. Room (in the annex bldg) was nice enough, but no desk, and a very small cupboard closet (not large enough for 5 days worth of suits). Clearly designed for the casual traveler, not the business person. Lots of service personnel around. Nice staff. Book in room has outdated info about when things are open. Cleaning service was okay -- but not great (I left a note for more coffee, which they did the next day, but not after that; tub not really clean. Shampoos etc not refreshed). Concierge was helpful. Wi-fi was just adequate -- okay in morning, hard to get on at night. Grounds and public areas in great shape.

We very much appreciate the feedback. There were a lot of details so I am sharing with the various departments. You are correct, not all the rooms have desks, but about 85% do, just in case business brings you back to the hotel in the future you can make sure to let reservations know it is important. The hotel dates back to the late 1880's. The rooms did not have closets back then, so we did add the wardrobes for guests. Good to know our team was kind and helpful.

Doesn't begin to compare to the Greenbrier or Homestead. Very few common areas to sit and relax and there were no activities in which to engage in the event of rain. The Victorian look is promising but doesn't deliver on elegance or service. The room was quite small but nice. Pillows were more like rocks. On the other hand the bath towels were terrific. Dinner was very expensive but the breakfast buffet was reasonable. All in all a very average stay.

It sounds like we fell short in some areas to create a wonderful experience here at the resort. We were surprised about the comment re: not enough common areas. With encircling verandas stroon with rocking chairs, wicker furniture and casual sitting areas around the entire clubhouse and in the courtyards, as well as the interior lobby, this is a first for us. True, this is a unique and different set up for a resort which was once a hunting lodge and now a National Historic Landmark. We do hope you will try us again in the future once the complete renovations are done on the sleeping rooms.

This past May we had a wedding at Jekyll Island and my wife and I spent a wonderful four days at the Club Hotel Resort. We stayed at both the Cherokee House and the Club House and found them both wonderful. Several venues were used for the wedding, The Cherokee for the rehearsal dinner, Faith Chapel for the wedding, and the Club ballroom for the reception. All the staff were exceptional. Rooms were great, with a lot of history. If you are thinking of a destination wedding, consider Jekyll Island Club Hotel. Patty Henning (Marketing Director) will make sure that it goes perfect for you,and now we have a beautiful, wonderful daughter in law.

Room Tip: Ask for discounts.

We absolutley love doing weddings!! I am so glad that your family had such great time here last month for your son's wedding. This place IS special and a really wonderful location to get married. We appreciate your son and daughter in law choosing our resort. Now everyone will have to come back for anniversaries and reunions.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights at spring break. Really nice grounds, historical rooms, friendly service. Low key and upscale - you can hang near the bar and library area in the evening and just enjoy a cocktail and live piano. Nice pool and also a beach house where you can get food and drink plus they will set up free chairs and umbrellas for you. We had breakfast each morning at their counter service coffee shop then ate our pastries and yogurt on the expansive porch. I would characterize this as a fairly expensive place to stay but is a good value if you can obtain a discount which they seem to offer periodically. Note - bring bug spray as the gnats are aggressive near sundown everywhere in South Georgia including Jekyll Island.

Glad to know you experienced and enjoyed so much about our stay! The "no seeums" as they are called tend to find us in the spring. No fear though, if you forget spray in the future, try Club Collections, our gift shop.

What an incredibly beautiful hotel! We walked through the door and was instantly transported in time. This hotel underwent a huge renovation back in 1986 at a cost of $15 million... and you can certainly tell it was a labor of love.

We expected the families of the past to walk through the door any minute! The pictures and furniture are period, the grounds are well manicured and have a huge croquet field in front with chairs to observe.

The pool on the grounds is equally inviting, the porch is wide and offers rocking chairs begging to be filled. The staff is polite, they are trying to establish the feeling of the original hotel.

It's refreshing to step back and away from the heavily technological world we live, if just for a brief moment in time and reflect on the lifestyle of this social hub. The surrounding "cottages" are preserved and several are open for tours.

Modern hotels are also on the Island but this is a great experience if you enjoy history and fine craftsmanship.

This hotel is special and very unique and we are certainly ecstatic that you had such a good time here at the resort recently. I have been here for many years and still do that same thing you mentioned-envision the millionaires during their winter stays here back in the late 1800s. Please visit us again soon.
