We stayed in the Hemlock Cabin right on a noisy steam. Was very comfortable and safe. A good location between Helen and Hiawassee. Pet friendly. Clean and people there were very friendly. Nice place to stay with an RV or in one of the 2 cabins.

I've been coming to the Georgia Mountains for 30 years or so, and have passed this little campground dozens of times without stopping. Now, I have an RV, and looked around for a park near Hiawassee and came on this place again. First, it's an old park. Old, as in it looks like it grew here, and has always been here. It looks cozy, lived in and comfortable. Almost all the sites back up to the Hiawassee River (which at this point is maybe ten feet wide and a few inches deep!), giving cool breezes on a hot summer day and a pleasant babbling sound when sitting around the campfire. Gives the kids a place to splash around, too. The camp host, Jeff, is one of the most conscientious hosts I've ever met. The grounds are spotless and well kept, he checks up on his guests without being intrusive, and always has a great story to tell. The fees are amazingly low, especially if you have Passport America! (If you don't, Jeff is a Passport representative, and will sign you up and give you a temporary card. Your stay here will save you enough to pay for the annual fee!) Bathhouses are fresh and clean. You're centrally located between Brasstown Bald, Hiawassee and Helen, there's access to a waterfall just up the road (yeah, you have to walk to it, but it's worth the hike!) and scenic drives galore. Wifi is good and strong, no TV at all (no cable, and since you're in a hollow, you can't get over the air, either.) and surprisingly, no signal from Verizon. I didn't consider the last two a bad thing! :-) I will happily stay here again, any time I'm in the area.

Room tip: You're deep in a hollow. No TV or even cell service!
