This house is beautifully situated with panoramic views of Lake Lanier. Do not be put off by the steep path down to the floating dock as it really is stunning once you get there, not to mention that you will be much fitter! We were 4 couples who shared the house for the week end and it was a fabulous trip. Dianna, the hostess, was lovley and extremly accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble and Dianna answered all our questions efficiently. The house itself is on three levels and there was ample space for eveyone. The best part of the house is this large wooden deck where we spent most of our time. We sat and watched small deer and listended to the prolific bird sounds, besides which this spot is ideal to sit with a sundowner or morning coffee. It was so peaceful and the wooded surrounds are just gorgeous. There is so much to enjoy around this area and a week end was not enough. We loved our evening swimming and hope to be back again. Thanks for a great time.
Dianna was very accommodating, the house was very clean and you were well informed of the amenities. It was way better than a hotel because you feel completely at home. The beds are so comfortable you almost want to stay in them for a whole day. If you like the outdoors this is another winner! There are two great decks for breakfast, lunch and dinner, a fire pit and a great dock to the water. We used the steps in the back to exercise. We were there for a wedding and it accommodated 3 families. So we were so greatful for the space as well as the common areas to enjoy a great meal or play some games.
Shopping and spas are close. We even went bowling and putt-putt golf while there. So much to do in the area as a family. If you are in the area, you can't pass this up!!!!.
While the home was beautiful, anyone booking should be aware that there is not just a steep access, it is almost a sheer drop and sharp turn. If individuals have difficulty climbing steep hills, this is not a place that easily accesses the lake. Even our younger family members had difficulty climbing the steep access from the lake.
The owner is lovely and very hospitable and made the whole stay comfortable but the access was so difficult, my husband and I found ourselves hesitating to leave to attend our family reunion and never attempting to return after dark. The access drive was so narrow that my suburban sometimes had to encroach on the hill to avoid slipping off the side. The sharp turn into the drive and sheer drop off to the garage made it frightening to enter the property or exit the property.
We also found that there was no place to store folded clothes. Drawers were limited to one bedroom that had a bedside stand with two small drawers.
Our feeling was that this was a vacation rental in progress. There really are many suggestions that I would make to improve the property for renters.
