We stayed at Twelve Oaks recently and was blown away by their hospitality. The house is beautiful and full of all the comforts of home. The staff showed true southern hospitality. We rent out all 8 rooms for our family and everyone was so impressed by the house and grounds. Covington is a great little town. I would highly recommend Twelve Oaks B & B to anyone coming to the area. Well done Twelve Oaks, well done!

Room Tip: Every room was a gem and you would not go wrong with any of them

From the moment we arrived Travis made us feel welcome and a part of the 12 Oaks Family for our 3 day stay. Grafielda, the 12 Oaks cat created us on our arrival. She is an orange tabby with lots of love to share, just don't let her in to the house.
There were three guest rooms occupied on our first night. The staff leaves the unoccupied rooms open so we could look at the rooms. After 6 pm the 12 Oaks staffs is gone so the guest have the place to themselves. The remaining days we had the opportunity to view each of the 8 rooms. All have their own special features but none would be a disappointing they are all special.
We stayed in the Breakfast at Tiffany's room one of the smaller rooms. Originally we had booked the Salvador Brother's room but our travel dates changed and the owner was kind enough to allow us to change rooms with no charge.
Breakfast the first morning was, coffee, OJ, eggs, 3 pancakes, with fresh strawberries topping, yum yum!!!!
We took a stroll down to Covington, only 2 or 3 blocks, and happened to get lucky there was a concert in the park. Weather was ideal and the music was incredible.
Breakfast each day was as good as the prior day. We didn't get the name of the person preparing breakfast but he did an amazing job. Food was hot, very well prepared, presentation was picture perfect, and service was attentive.
Each evening Travis puts on a spread of cheeses, cracker, and wine. This is not to be missed. Travis did a wonderful job of selecting the cheeses each day providing some new varieties each day.
The second day we explored the area driving some of the back roads and just enjoying the scenery. Friday night there was another concert in the park. Again the weather was perfect, the crowd numbered somewhere between 700 and 1000. What a memory that evening will always be.

The final morning we had another great breakfast before heading out of town. We will carry some incredible memories with us of a truly special place and the staff that runs this jewel.

Room Tip: Any room will be an experience. The pictures online are very accurate so if you liked the pctures you will love the room.

Thank you so much for staying with us and for taking the time to write such a kind and thoughtful review. I passed it on to the staff who I'm sure will get a kick out of Garfielda being mentioned! We should add her to the payroll; everyone adores her. Come back and see us again sometime!

There are so many positive aspects about Twelve Oaks that can be described and it would be almost impossible to capture it all in one review. I would like to start with Twelve Oaks is a beautiful Antebellum Mansion that has been lovingly restored by the owners and they are to be commended for all of the effort it takes to restore and maintain a piece of history. It is grandeur and spectacular. This leads me to the one thing that most impressed us, Travis & Chris. The owners were away for a couple of weeks and we had the great pleasure of Travis & Chris being our hosts over a holiday weekend. These two gentlemen are amazing and a treasure to Twelve Oaks and their guests. They work extremely hard to make sure all is in order and they do it with a passion that shows they are very dedicated and prideful of all that they do. They made it all seem seamless and were the perfect hosts. Breakfast was beyond delicious and the presentation by both and how they worked together are also to be commended. The Sippin' & Nibblin' hour was a perfect combination of locally sourced cheeses, dips and crackers along with wine that was a favorite of all the guests. We were made to feel special and very welcome and for that we are very grateful. Job very, very well done gentlemen. Now the actual B&B, our suite (Suite Home Alabama) was very spacious and nice. If there would be a drawback it would be the fact that it did not have a shower, although it did have a very nice soaking tub and the toiletries provided were high-end l'occtaine, we knew this going in and booked based on availability, and we are so glad we did book. The verbena fragrance I thought was very creative given the Covington and Twelve Oaks connection to The Vampire Dairies. We booked the Romance Package and the personal message written in rose petals and the roses were very loving done by no other than Travis, what a talent this fellow has. The grounds are very beautiful and relaxing and if you are looking for a getaway as a couple or to interact with others as B&B's are known for, this is your place. Covington is a very friendly town and it is no wonder why it is chosen as the as the location for so much filming. It is charming and picturesque and EVERY local resident that we met were so friendly, whether it be a shop owner or locals in the town's center park. Local restaurants were all very good and our very best recommendation would be Milazzo's Ristorante, this was also a recommendation by the owner on the website, but what is not mentioned is that you will have insider info in that Chris is also associated with Milazzo's and can recommend phenomenal dishes and wine pairings for your dinner or special evening. Thank you Chris, you were spot on, one of the best meals we've had all year! All of the guests that we met were friendly as well and not to take away from that but I think that the hosts set the tone. They were relaxed, even given all that they had to do and it transcended to the guests. We will be back in the future for more of the true "Southern Hospitality" provided by The Twelve Oaks Bed & Breakfast, thank you so much for your hospitality, you guys are the BEST.

Room Tip: Third floor rooms offer the most privacy along with the butler's pantry. Very convenient for your morning coffee before breakfast.

We came to Covington primarily for the bed and breakfast. We were not Vampire Diary fans and we don't really follow the filming industry that intently. While those are interesting, we looked for a place that would allow us to rest and relax, getting away from our busy lives. It was a great choice. We enjoyed the inn and the town.
We really made the most of everything the inn had to offer. The rooms were lovely, and of course, all the unique tubs and showers were relaxing to experience. I loved the way the staff left room doors ajar until guests arrived, allowing me to take a peek inside. This was fun to see, as each room had its own theme. We also loved sitting on all of the big, wrap-around porches and balconies. The grounds are also expansive and full of large, sprawling trees, and we spent many hours sitting around the pool reading and resting. The grounds are quiet, private, and relaxing.
While Twelve Oaks did have many special features, probably what made it stand out most was the staff. Travis, Chris, and Anne are amazing. They set a relaxed and inviting tone, but they also work so hard. They truly do need roller skates, as they stay so busy! :) They check you in and make you feel at home, prepare and refresh your rooms, take care of all your needs, and prepare a lovely wine and cheese time and amazing breakfast (plus many things we don't see behind the scenes.) The owners were away on a rare trip when we there, but what a blessing to have such dedicated and hard-working staff! Each of them took pride in their work, as if were their own establishment. My husband and I agreed that they really did make the trip special.
I would be remiss not to spend a bit of time talking about the food. The wine and cheese time was so nice. They make everything so special, and there were so many delicious cheeses, dips, and assorted crackers. The wine choices were also very popular with all the guests. Breakfast was not to be missed. They take care to make it special, and they also take pride in serving it hot and delicious. It is a treat, and you feel like you are being pampered. They pay attention to every detail.
One of the other things that I liked about this bed and breakfast was that it offered guests as much privacy as they wanted, but if guests wanted more socializing, they also had that opportunity. For example, we enjoyed breakfast at a small table for two, but there was a larger table experience as well. There were many common areas to gather and socialize inside and out, but there were also quiet nooks for two, throughout the house and on the porches. It's just nice to have the choice when you get away.
Finally, we really enjoyed spending time walking around the town. It's so nice to be able to walk to great restaurants like Mystic Grill in the town square. My husband fell in love with the Ribeye, and my Shrimp and Grits were amazing! (We went back twice! )We also were so excited to find a myriad of excellent, established walking/biking trails around the town. Each day we set out on foot from the inn and explored a different one. There is so much interesting history and tons of beautiful, old homes from the past. it was definitely a plus for the trip!
We had a very relaxing time at Twelve Oaks, and we want to thank Travis, Chris, and Anne for everything they did to make the visit special.
