Lovely staff and warm greeting, with great local and artist exhibits. The american photography was thought provoking and to end lunch was freshly made and the staff were very personable.

This museum is just beautiful in a beautiful setting. The atrium is fabulous. I recommend taking the docent tour. Our guide, Mary, was well informed and delightful. We came to see The Maurice Sendak exhibit. It’s a comprehensive look at the art work for Where the Wild Things Are. There are many surprising treasures included in the exhibit especially drawings of scenes in Macbeth that Sendak did at the age of 16 for an English class. They are remarkable.
The other galleries had good exhibits. While we were there we noticed that a French film was being shown in the auditorium as part of their film festival. Seemed to be very well attended.
An excellent place to stop if you are in Vero Beach. Good for children as well as adults.

A truly wonderful Sendak exhibit, with original art that is well displayed. The height of the visit was seeing a series of eight drawings done by Sendak when he was a young student in lieu of writing a report on MacBeth. The docent, a very knowledgable woman, said that Sendak's teacher kept the drawings her entire life, and left them to her child who loaned them to the museum for this exhibit. This museum is well worth a visit!

Love to visit the Vero Beach Museum of Art because the staff are so welcoming and the feel of the place is easy and inviting. This visit was to see the Masters of American Photography and the Holidays in the Wild Exhibit of Maurice Sendak's work. Both exhibits were terrific. All the iconic photos of the last 100 years were displayed with interesting write ups and information. The Maurice Sendak exhibit was spectacular with floor to ceiling images of all the familiar creatures and characters of his work. They had a nice replica of a childs bedroom set up with lots of books, etc. where kids could relax and read. The museum's regular exhibit room is always interesting as well. Docents are fun and full of information.
