Love to visit the Vero Beach Museum of Art because the staff are so welcoming and the feel of the place is easy and inviting. This visit was to see the Masters of American Photography and the Holidays in the Wild Exhibit of Maurice Sendak's work. Both exhibits were terrific. All the iconic photos of the last 100 years were displayed with interesting write ups and information. The Maurice Sendak exhibit was spectacular with floor to ceiling images of all the familiar creatures and characters of his work. They had a nice replica of a childs bedroom set up with lots of books, etc. where kids could relax and read. The museum's regular exhibit room is always interesting as well. Docents are fun and full of information.

We are there weekly for “Movement at the Museum”. This program helps Parkinsons patients to maintain balance while enjoying live music. We enjoy seeing the changing displays of paintings, crafts, etc. The summer camps were busy creating and displaying their efforts. There is a gift shop and a cafe for lunch.

I attended a jazz concert outside the museum a couple of weeks ago. Pop was free. Wine and sandwiches were available to buy. The two hour concert was outstanding. I viewed the Maurice Sendak art exhibit recently also. It was better than I expected. There were fifty pieces of his artwork. The museum has a great gift shop as well.

This museum offers some outdoor sculpture in a small garden, a lovely cool refreshing indoor fountained courtyard and snack fare, and a number of indoor galleries, sure to keep your interest for at least a 1-2 hour visit.
