We were visiting family in the Tampa area before heading out on a cruise and needed a place to stay for one night. This hotel looks to be straight out of the 60's, but perhaps some people like that charm as it goes with the (rundown) town. Our room was really loud. We could hear the band across the street playing in the bar (fortunately we are night people) but it carried on from about 6pm - 1:30am. If I hadn't been here for pleasure I wouldn't have gotten any sleep (this was a Friday night). The bathroom was really small. Our room was right on the beach which was gorgeous, allowing us to watch a beautiful sunset out our door wall, but I can't imagine staying here longer than one night.

Room Tip: We stayed on the ground floor. I have to imagine a higher floor room would be less noisy.

Dear Boders,

Thank you for staying with us during your brief family visit prior to your cruise. Treasure Island does enjoy and embrace our “mid-century” architecture still seen on many of the resorts and motels including the décor and outside look at the Bilmar but we pride ourselves on maintaining the most modern amenities and room design found in the Tampa Bay area. Also the City of Treasure Island has recently passed a Downtown Redevelopment Plan to allow for development and modernization of the many shops and restaurants in our central district adjoining the Bilmar. In conjunction with this effort was the approval of a new Beach Trail which is scheduled for completion this spring. I sincerely apologize for the noise from across the street the night of your stay. A local establishment has been pushing the limits on the after 10pm noise ordinance and I am personally working with the owner and local authorities to stop the louder music at 10pm per our local noise codes. We do feature a variety of room options and locations that offer larger living space including a bathroom with a separate vanity area and courtyard corridors that are still Gulf Front but offer a quieter atmosphere. I welcome you to contact me prior to your next visit and I would be happy to assist with reserving one of these Efficiency rooms. Thank you again for visiting us and for sharing your experience with your fellow travelers.
Sincerely, Clyde Smith – General Manager

I stayed one night on business. The room was very clean, the hotel gives of a boutique type vibe.

Within a 3=5 minute walk of many bars, restaraunts and shops. Did not check out the beach.

It got a little loud at 10pm, when a group decided to hang out at the pool and converse loudly, but a call to the office resolved that within 15 minutes.

Room Tip: Ask for something not facing the pool.

Just returned yesterday (2-11-13) from the Bilmar. Had a great time revisiting an area we once lived in. Everyone at the Bilmar was friendly and accomodating. Gulf front studio deluxe was more than we invisioned. Beautiful view, everything we needed. Location very central. Easy to get to everywhere. Housekeeping was EXCEPTIONAL! Rooms was cleaned early in the day, except on Sunday, but not a big deal. Bazzie's not our favorite, but Sloppy Joe's was good and reasonable. Parking attendents were helpful and accomodating. Our guest had to park over by Walgreen's, but as hotel guest we always found a parking spot. Check out the R Bar on 107th Ave. ( I think), good food, nice people, affordable prices, good entertainment, thanks MIke.

Room Tip: We were in 346 in the Palms building. Not so noisy as the previous reviews had stated. We asked fo...

We stayed here for the 1st time and really enjoyed it. We stayed in the Palm Towers and the view was beautiful. The pool was heated and felt great even if it were a little cooler temp. outside. It was great to get into the elevator and get off at the 1st floor and you are right at Sloppy Joes, one of our favorite places to go. Hope they finally get the beach walk completed. Will definitely return next year.

Dear Friends from Lancaster, PA,

Thank you for staying with us during your Tampa Bay visit. I am so glad you enjoyed our 2 heated pools and Sloppy Joe’s our signature Restaurant. I am happy to share that the new Treasure Island Beach Trail will be completed the spring and will feature a mile walk on a meandering trail adjoining beautiful Treasure Island beach. The new trail will feature a “bench wall” for relaxing and LED lights to illuminate the trail at night. We look forward to you returning soon and enjoying the new feature to our wonderful island.
Sincerely, Clyde Smith – General Manager
