When it comes to a Friday and we have a taste for fish, the place to go is Paul's. Stop by and see Mike and his staff for a enjoyable meal...

Very casual and very popular. Order their Greek anti pasto with Feta (house salad) for your table along with some peel and eat shrimp---and a Bud! Yum!!!

Located on one of the side streets in the Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks, Paul's food has steadily gone downhill, while the prices have soared. Back in the 80's this was one of our favorite "little hole-in-the wall" restaurants. Sadly, it's not anymore. Only the U-Peel-Ems shrimp is still good, but it's outrageously priced. You can go anywhere else on the Docks and find delicious shrimp at a much better price. Meat and seafood is very chintzy in all the meals, and alcoholic beverages are watered down. We've kept going there in the hope they would improve, but no more. Every visit has seen higher prices, decreased quality in product and in preparation, and smaller portions. We won't be back.

Was not expecting the par of the previous Paul's Shrimp House, but was still disappointed. They said the pollack was fresh, but it is a cold water fish, so I don't see how. The spaghetti was warmed over, but I will say that the clam chowder was excellent. The waitress was marginally interested, and felt like we were more of a nuisance to her. No atmosphere, but that wasn't a big deal. The coupon really didn't help. It said it was for a free lunch, and the specials are $6.99 and it as only up to $5. You had to to buy two drinks, and that would wipe out the $5.

Hands down the best restaurant in Tarpon Springs for authentic Greek food: Horiatiki salad, Greek salad (they offer the potato salad on the bottom), fried smelts... and the famous original Paul's shrimp. It's a pound of fresh peel & eat shrimp with incredible light Greek seasoning -- you won't even need cocktail sauce. The shrimp are always big and fresh. This restaurant has been around a few decades and family owned... always consistently delicious and fantastic! I used to come all the time when I lived in Tampa -- and was down visiting over Thanksgiving from Nashville. It changed locations over the years but it is the ORIGINAL Paul's Shrimp and it's back in it's original spot on Athens Street. Having just traveled to Syros, Greece this summer, this food is up to par with authentic cuisine in Greece! Ignore the tourist traps and head right to the best local spot in Tarpon Springs. You'll love this!
