I am not sure how this hotel could be rated #5 in Tampa. It was average and needs cleaning and updating. Our room was very dusty in the corners and behind the arm chair there was thick dust and trash. I could not bring myself to take a picture and post it. We checked in thru the app the day before and chose a room. I called the next day at 1:30 to see if our room was ready as we wanted to check in a little early to head to Busch Gardens. I asked the person I spoke with to have the cleaning of the room prioritized as we would be checking in at 2:30pm. I called back at 2pm and was told the room was not ready and again asked for it to be prioritized. We checked in at 2:30 and of course the room we had chosen was not ready. I expected this as with the two previous calls that I made, I didn't feel that customer service was a priority. Our room had to be changed. We did not feel overly welcomed and we did not receive an adequate apology especially as gold members. It started our long weekend on a bad note. The breakfast was not impressive and for the last hour, food, fruit yogurt, bread etc was not restocked. Only one elevator in the hotel so be prepared to wait for it. We are not likely to return to this hotel.
