Rolls were wonderful. Red Wine paired with my Duck both Ways was wonderful. Escargot was really savory. I enjoyed the duck breast more than the leg cooked confit. The pilaf was ok, a little dry, and the kale I pretty much passed on. Disappointed in the ambience. Elevator music and office tiled ceilings. The French are so conscience of the environment you eat their food in! I wanted to eat outside but the fan was noisy. That being said the creme brulee wss one of the best I've ever had. A few slight adjustments and this restaurant could get superior marks...

Sat outside on a beautiful Saturday evening. Our friends brought their dogs along. Waiters were very attentive. Dinners were very good. Enjoyed beet salad, salmon entree with spaghetti squash and purple potatoes. Others had the steak special. Very popular local restaurant. Never had a mediocre meal here.

It had been about 10 years since I had been to A La Provence. And I was not overly impressed that last time. But this time.....wow, hats off to the newer chef. So glad we went. Had a dinner party of seven. Everyone raved about their food. It was outstanding. And the prices were reasonable given the food quality. Definitely will add this one to the rotation.

Food was not fantastic but it was French so that always makes it good ... the soufflé, however was fabulous and totally the best. The service was wonderful - a tad slow but top notch. I would dine here again and try something else.

Should one wish to make the drive from Tampa Bay to and from NOLA (not recommended, long -- two days unless you are training for the Daytona 24 hour endurance race -- and boring). Tallahassee is at about the half way mark. Not much there but just off Interstate 75 you can get a pretty good French meal at A la Provence. Located in the usual mall, as with everything in Florida, the place is charming, with bright walls, soft lighting and decent noise reduction. Service is pleasant though a tad green. The wine list is adequate. The menu is substantial with classic French offerings (often with a twist) as well as some Italian and American dishes. A four course prix fixe menu is a great buy at $54 per person. There are several salads including a very good "Bistro chopped salad" and an interesting "Winter Salad." Among the better appetizers is the pate and a very substantial selection of cheeses. The Pot auFeu is an interesting variation on the French classic, using short rib, mushrooms, carrots, peas and Brusselles sprouts. The short rib melts in your mouth and the vegetables are cooked perfectly. Unfortunately the very tasteful sauce tends to overwhelm -- the kitchen could go lighter on it. Prices are reasonable\le and we would certainly eat there again if it were necessary or convenient to do so.
