The location is remote and while it is quiet you have to drive to everything. You cannot even get a coffee or a bagle nearby. Then, when you drive to the beach and haul all your beach gear parking is a nightmare. Parking is also a nightmare in the small town which is some distance away. We drove around and around looking for parking just to have dinner. The bungalows are cute in a old Florida way but there is no daily maid service. If you want fresh towels, you must remember to put them in a basket outside your door. There were bugs all over the room. The bathroom was really small. No counter space. Not even a shelf in the shower for a bar of soap (we had to put it on the floor). Wifi was very awful. Pool was tiny. Won't be back. There seem to be a ton of options on the key so I could pay a bit more and get what I was expecting. At $200 per night off season we could have gotten a much nicer room directly on the beach.

After a long ride to Siesta Key Bungalows, we were greeted by Jackie who made us feel right at home. She was a font of knowledge of the area and gave us some great ideas to do while there. The bungalow itself was very quaint, clean and had all the necessities needed for the time we were there. It was a great place to come back to after a day at the beach or sightseeing the area. I think this is the first place I was able to sleep all night long while traveling, the bed was extremely comfortable. Very quiet and laid back atmosphere, just what I needed for a vacation. My teenage daughters are already planning a return trip, so they must have approved of the location as well. Great bargain if using a Groupon as we did.

This property was awesome. From the start Mrs. Jackie (who was working alone) did everything in her power to make sure the rooms were clean, all while checking in new guest's. She was very friendly and helpful in finding restaurants, grocery stores, and places to go. The Bungalows are well furnished, clean and very quaint. The area is close enough to the tourist area of Siesta Key but far enough away to have a relaxing night out on the porch with the new friends you are sure to make. Turtle beach and marina restaurant are both less than a mile from the bungalows making it an easy walk or even easier with the use of the many bicycles available. We will defiantly be making plans to come back.

Room tip: Mermaid has a porch and is right next to the pool

We really enjoyed our time here. The setting, staff, atmosphere, and comfort were exactly what we enjoy. True Florida style. Jackie was pleasant and accommodating. We were immediately welcomed and felt right at home. Excellent property for easy family vacation or couples get away.

Just returned from 5 nights in the Dolphin at Siesta Key Bungalows ... first time in Siesta Key (and first Groupon trip ever purchased) so it was a big risk on many fronts but what an awesome surprise in accommodations. The village of Siesta Key is very quaint, casual and relaxed - as far away as you could possibly want to get from the luxury resort scene typical of the Caribbean or other cities in Florida. SK Bungalows were reflective of the Village of Siesta Key - we can't describe it any better than to say that we felt like a lifelong friend had left us the keys with full access to their home and said, "make yourselves comfortable". Not luxurious but welcoming, clean and very thoughtful with regard to amenities and services. Need chairs for the beach? Or a float for the pool? A bike to go exploring? Just take what you need as long as you put it back where you found it. Full kitchen in the bungalow was a great convenience and was well-stocked with basic amenities - grocery shopping is in close enough proximity by car or bike. Although the property was full - which is relative with only 10 bungalows - it felt like we were there alone. Some days the only way we knew there were other guests is because we saw their cars in the lot! Property location is great because it's on the residential end of the main strip so it's quiet, private and much more intimate than the opposite end of the strip. We spent our days alternating between Turtle Beach and Siesta Key Beach. Turtle Beach is VERY close to SK Bungalows and virtually empty - no lifeguards and absolutely no commercialism. Siesta Key Beach is MUCH bigger and more populated but still very relaxing and quiet. Some evenings we spent on the dock of the SK Bungalows watching the sunset and simply listening to the fish jump until well after dark – great time. The management team of Jackie and Courtney were excellent, attentive, kind, courteous and non-intrusive - thank you ladies! The Dolphin does not overlook the water but is a very nice size bungalow for two people - bed was EXTREMELY comfortable and storage space was ample for two. If having something closer to the lagoon is important to you, then go for the Ringling or the Tortuga bungalows, both of which face the lagoon. We usually travel in more of a "luxury resort" kind of way but our experience at SK Bungalows is one worth repeating repeatedly. Can't wait to return ... be sure to bring/purchase your own beach towels, because that's the one thing not provided.
