We ate there the week it opened, in the early 1990s. French Canadian female owner, her 18-year-old boy friend chef chained to the range so that he coudn't run off with another broad. Excellent garlicky Caesar salad, good French bistro food, two wonderful desserts — fruit tart and chocolate tart.
But I guess the chef wriggled out of his leg cuffs. Bistro 41 has been gone for many years. Followed by a pale im itation, and then a weird Polish restaurant, the Bay Leaf Cafe (good mushroom salad, sour-faced Polish clientele.)
