From the minute you walk into Cafe Baci and the server places a plate of warm, freshly baked Italian bread on your table, you know you are in for something special. At Cafe Baci, they call it "the full Italian experience." Located at 4001 South Tamiami Trail, south of Bee Ridge Road, Cafe Baci has been satisfying customers for more than 20 years. We started with minestrone, Caesar salad and a uniquely delicious version of bruschetta on toasted Ciabatta bread topped with chopped fresh tomatoes, goat cheese, basil and onions. We passed up the tempting veal dishes, parmigiana and scaloppini, in favor of two seafood dishes, red snapper and grilled salmon. In fact, I chose the salmon over the pistachio crusted sea bass. At Cafe Baci, it's always difficult to choose one dish from another. The sides, sauteed mushrooms and spinach, were good, too. For dessert, the homemade tiramisu was highly recommended and it didn't disappoint. It was good as advertised. Have you ever had a bad meal at Cafe Baci? Not likely. It's always a "full Italian experience."
