We attended The Village Door location that is off of Emerald Coast Pkwy (not the location in the Baytowne Wharf). I will first start of by saying that we had an amazing server. Brandon did everything he could to please us, and responded to our many requests with a smile. The night began to go downhill once we were told that they couldn't make the dishes we ordered. The 1st dish was the gumbo, and then next were the ribs. A couple of minutes after telling us we could not get the ribs, they came back out and told us they were now available...odd, right? Coincidentally, half of our party had good tasting ribs, and the other half had ribs that were so tough, we couldn't even cut through them. The manager did bring other plates out for those with tough ribs. The sweet potato fries were a hit. I am not sure what kind of cream it was that they offered with the sweet potato fries, but it was amazing! The concept of a club and restaurant next door to each other is brilliant, however they do have some kinks that need to be worked out.

First of all, never again. The Food besides the Ribs was not good at all.
Definitely not the place to eat seafood even they have some on the menu. Even the burger was like a hockey puck, burned, dry.
Our server Stacey was really great and she was doing everything to satisfy us, unfortunately she was not working in the kitchen. At the end she took the burger off the bill.
Don’t go there for food, have a drink and enjoy the view. That’s the best.

The wife and I were hungry around lunch. We decided to try one of the Baytown Harbor restaurants The Village Door. It looked interesting and the menu had lots of tasty entrees. There wasn’t a lot of staff however we were seated directly outside overlooking the harbor. The waiter took our drink and appetizer order. He brought back the drinks very promptly. When the appetizers came we had to ask for silverware and napkins. This was not readily available. During the appetizers, he took our order. Once the entrees arrived we began to eat and then a storm rolled in and the wind picked up. I really wish there was better cover over the outside as pine straw started to fall and we quickly moved to another table to avoid the debris. After moving it started to rain and the cover did not prevent the rain so we moved inside. All in all the food was just average. I had the half slab of ribs with baked beans and my wife had a salad. Maybe had we sat inside I would have had a higher opinion.

If you are going to the Village Door for food ....just simply STAY AWAY!!! Can you say HORRIBLE!!! Do you like your food served on aluminum trays? Do you like your food to take well over 30 minutes once you order it to finally arrive? Try to find your server once you order your food. Forget about it. Food SUCKS and so does the service.

STAY AWAY, there are plenty of better options in Destin.

The food was just awful and the prices are way to high. Service was slow and they did not know their product. My daughter ordered the popcorn shrimp platter(which was absolutely terrible and cost $17) and they did not bring her the coleslaw or cocktail sauce. When we asked about it we were told it did not come with those items. I had to pull up the menu on my phone and show the server that it stated on the menu that it was served with those items. We will not be returning to The Village Door and we are locals.
